I purchase a 2021 Chevy high country 3500, the infotainment system is very user friendly. The only thing is when you first turn on the truck the radio blasts some radio station just before it identifies me as the personalized driver with key fob one or two as programmed. Even though when I last drove the truck I was listening to Sirius? Seems to happen every time. I haven’t been able to figure out a fix. Any ideas GM?

I agree! The response is spot on. I like physical buttons for some things, though. They have quite a bit instrument panel real estate to take from and make the screen a bit larger. I have this system and I love The Weather Channel app I downloaded from the MyLink App Store. I wish Apple Car Play would display the weather feature on iPhone and/or AccuWeather!

I put a deposit down on a C8 Corvette 9 months ago was wondering Is it possible in the new C8, to disable wifi? I don't want to get into it too much but I have a sensitivity to wireless , yes I can be around wifi and all but sitting right next to a router for long periods does give me severe headaches so was hoping to disable it . I have a C5 and 2 yrs ago it was in the shop they gave me a brand new 2020 Camaro loaner car & l I was able to disable the wifi through the infotainment screen Some are telling me you may not be able to in the 2022 C8 .I really hope there is a way even if I have to go into the dash .. Any info or advice is greatly appreciated Thanks

We just bought a new 2021 Silverado and no one at the dealership can tell us or figure out why we can only use our cell phone to make a call if we turn our data on. Our other 2 vehicles both GM Bluetooth work to make calls. We can receive a call and answer from the steering wheel but can't make one unless our data is on OR we use the screen so not hands free. Our cell phones are listed as compatible. Any ideas

To unmute it, you only need to press the Radio's Power button one time, it is a mute/unmute feature. To power the radio off, you would hold it down.

I just bought a 2021 LTX Z71 and this system is buggy as hell. The radio turns itself on when you start the truck. Even if you physically turned it off. Also, the apps icon doesn’t work and the marketplace app isn’t even there. The my Chevrolet app shows the weather channel and several other apps but you can’t get those to show up on the truck. I’ve talked to GM five different times and they say a software update is being worked on but they don’t know when it will be available. So my free month of these features will be expired before I even get to try them out. I personally am okay with the screen size. I like physical buttons more than a touch screen. Muscle memory takes over and I can make adjustments without taking my eyes off the road.

I’m having same issue with LT trail boss I bought yesterday. Mine doesn’t even have a navigation app. When I tap on app button, it says WiFi connection error. WiFi hotspot to other devices work okay though, as does wireless CarPlay. Just no data connection to the vehicle infotainment apps. Called onstar and dealership, but neither know what is wrong.

@@diggity968 check with your dealer. GM pushed out an update last Monday that fixed everything on mine except the radio still turns itself on. But I set the max startup volume to zero so that’s not a big deal.

I have a 2021 Colorado and can't turn the radio off. I don't listen to the radio, but when I start the truck the radio comes on by default. If I push the power button it mutes the sound then I can't hear phone calls. If I hold the power button, it turns off the system including the phone system. I JUST WANT TO TURN THE RADIO OFF AND HAVE EVERYTHING ELSE STAY ON!!!! HOW??? Very screwed up system, IMHO.

@@alaashebeeb8729 Unfortunately it's not looking good for my Chevy Trax. My dealership said that it was not doable, but when I talked to someone at On-Star they told me to call their tech department during working hours. Sometimes they know something the dealer doesn't. However, I have a feeling I will get the same answer from them. What I don't understand is why they don't allow people to go to their chevy app store and download more apps. Is it a memory limitation or something? It would appear that it wouldn'n't be too much to add more apps. I would think people who could visit the Chevy app store would give them more business. I just wish that it had a few internal apps like a navigator so I wouldn't have to call them or setup my Iphone each time. Good luck! Please let me know if you have any luck!

@@alaashebeeb8729 Yes, unfortunately. However, I am leasing my Trax knowing that it was bare bones to keep costs low for myself, but gigabytes are gigabytes. Unless it's as simple as buying a less expensive computer with less ram installed than an expensive computer. I wonder if it is upgradeable though. It sounds like you bought a high end vehicle though, so I'm not sure what the reason is. I plan to call Onstar tech support division tomorrow during business hours. Probably will tell me the same thing, but it wouldn't hurt. Best Of Luck to you!

@@alaashebeeb8729 So I just got off the phone with the Onstar electronics department. He said something like I have infotainment 3 or 1 (don't remember) and the one I have is considered low level. It will not allow me to download apps. If I upgrade to the best one I could get apps to the vehicle. Well, it's a lease so I would have to go to the dealership for that. In the past I had heard that after market is 3 1/2 times the cost of what you want to get that you didn't get in the first place. I have about two and a half years left on my lease. Oh well, next time! Good luck on your end!

This is the Chevy Infotainment System 3 PLUS or PREMIUM, not the standard CIS 3. The CIS 3 doesn’t have navigation nor a user account selection. I had a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 High Country with all the bells and whistles. It had everything you are describing here plus the 15 camera angles. I traded it in for a 2021 RST which has the basic CIS 3 and it’s awful. I had to have it worked on THREE times at the dealership and it’s still not right. I used my phone with it for navigation which the system said I had to be plugged into it to use Apple CarPlay. This truck was brand new from the factory and the CIS 3 is crap. This is my sixth Silverado and I’m SO disappointed with it. It seems as though they skimped out on a lot things on this truck that use to be standard including quality assurance. I also had to get the LED headlights re-aimed. I know it’s not the High Country I had but it should come with a lot more than it currently has at a 53K price point. So, I’m gonna wait until the new updated Silverado comes out and trade this disappointing truck in.

That's because navigation requires GPS . GPS can only be used via internet. You can purchase a plan and have Wi-Fi enabled on your vehicle or you can plug your phone into the USB. As long as your phone or car has internet you'll be able to access navigation.

I have a basic 2021 chevy malibu and it doesn't even have the navigation app. I had to buy a device that plugs into the USB. It basically turns the cars screen into a smart device. And I can use my phones data instead of getting a Wi-Fi plan for the car. Now I have all kinds of apps including navigation.

I would strongly recommend NOT buying a Chevy with this Infotainment 3 system. Full of bugs IMO, android auto fails to connect constantly, blue tooth fails to auto-connect constantly. Navigation voice search function is useless, it has failed in every scenario, address, intersection, place of interest, then there is no way to back up a step, you must start over. I get trailer light warnings when I have no trailer. After 5 months, I'm seriously considering trading in to get away from this garbage system. Chevy has failed us on this one.

Sound system sucks! The quality is like a cheap old car playing a am radio. The old Chevy 2017 was bad but the new 2021 is the worst car ever. Sorry chevy u screw up big time! Maybe u think only old people who can hear or don’t listen to radio buy your cars I guess that’s what’s going to happen at least.
