In person it's actually a much nicer shade of yellow than the current Pure Aero. It's a super nice paint job in my opinion, and this coming from someone who doesn't like the current pure aero pant job that much, and the paint quality has a more expensive feel to it as well. Performance wise this 2022 SX 300 plays so similarly to the current Aero though that the biggest differences come down to feel at contact (they feel very different, but this doesn't affect performance) and any differences in things like swing weight because of quality control issues. It's hard to think of two rackets from different brands that overlap so much.

OMG yes! My husband and I talk about that all the time... we own two tennis stores in Northern California not far from Harry (check out our page). The copying that Dunlop has done of the Babolat line is just plain sad. Yellow for SPIN - Dunlop SX line and Babolat Pure Aero Line. Blue for POWER - Dunlop FX line and Babolat Pure Drive. Red for CONTROL - Dunlop CX Line and Babolat Pure Strike Line....... its actually crazy. lol

Whats the most similar racquet to the APD 2013 GT? The SX 300 (2020) or something else? I don´t like the extreme open string pattern of the Pure Aero line.

The 2022 SX 300 is a pure aero but made by Dunlop. With this comes a different feel at contact but otherwise I'm struggling to remember two rackets that overlap performance wise as much as these two. The SX 300 tour, I haven't hit with that one yet actually, seems to be a new twist on the spin 98 formula with a 23/26/23mm beam, a far thicker beam than any other 98 I know of. Who is the 2022 SX 300 for? Advanced heavy hitting RPM based modern baseliners, players who likely are at a very high level right up to a pro, players that enjoy a high launch angle (can be the whole level range, beginner to pro), and on the other end beginners and intermediates looking for a pretty frame that's very forgiving and provides easy access to depth. The 2022 SX 300 tour is, on paper, for players who play with a lot of spin and racket head speed, a modern heavy hitting RPM baseliner, but seek a bit more precision at the cost of some of that launch angle so they can target smaller spots on the court. It will be less beginner and intermediate friendly with the smaller head size (not about shanking ball, but forgivness of stringbed and less forgiving on swing styles that don't accelerate through the ball with good technique). This racket should also work for styles such as those who seek the control and precision of a 98 but with a higher launch angle than you'd normally get with a 98. I don't think 'upgrading' from another racket is the right word as most frames today are great, unless you're moving up for a beginner/intermediate racket (both the SX 300 and tour versions are advanced rackets that have some appeal to lower levels as well). I will say that the 2022 SX 300 directly competes with the pure aero, the vcore 100, the head extreme MP, the burn 100 and so on. The SX 300 tour, the 2022 one, directly competes with the pure aero Vs, extreme tour, vcore 98, and so on.

Hi! I need your help! I''m from from Italy, a big fan of Tennis Spin and..Dunlop racquets..! I'm playing with CX 200 Tour 16x19 for 3 years, put immediatly some lead at 9, 12 and 3 and it feels great, powerful enough (I put some seriuos effort playing!) and fantastic on control side...but since I'm coming back partecipating tournaments this year, I'm feeling I need something more "permissive" in terms of sweetspot. I play with massive tospin and big serve (I brake strings every 4/5 hours..head hawk 125+tecnifibre duramix 135 at 24-23 kg), and I'm quite interested on this new Dunlop SX lineup. Also because it seems to be more focused also on control than the Babolat/Prince/Others counterpart. Unfortunately I can't test SX300 or SX300 Tour where I am, so..that's why I need your help! I'll put some lead on the racquet head for sure, but, which of them do you think would suit to me? Or do you think I need something else? Many thanks!

A bit more flexible, the strings are more separated than pure aero but for some reason, with that spin, it has plenty of control (like pure strike 100).

Power and spin are ultra close between the two (maybe an extremely slight advantage in liveliness/force of shot with Aero and a slightly more contained feel with the Dunlop), to the point that for most the biggest difference will be variations in things like swing weight because of quality control issues, in terms of which gets more power etc. They feel very different at contact though, and you'll have a preference for one or the other no doubt as this will be a personal thing for sure.

I have the 2021 version. I'll be honest, specs and design appear to be the same, except color. I'm not seeing much change. Either way, I like it. Hilarious that I also have Confidential, 16L, at 52 on mine :-). Of course, I started using that string because of this pod cast.

It's very different to the 2020 version or whenever the black one came out. Seems like a different mold, and the stiffness is higher (although it doesn't feel it, but the increased RA helps it to have more energy return), and the string spacing is significantly further apart despite same 16/19 pattern. The 2022 version has essentially brought the SX 300 right in like with the current pure aero. Performance wise they overlap a ton. This new version has a higher launch angle, easier access to spin, and launches a more powerful ball compared to the previous black one. The previous black one will control flatter shots easier though with its denser string spacing in the hit zone.

I had Siri converted for me a .1 oz difference is less than 3 grams. No big deal as he said within realms. Who know what string Dunlop uses to spec these rackets with it may not be confidential 16L.

Average weight of SX 300 is 300g. Average weight of the tour I think is 305g (someone correct me if I'm wrong).
