@No_Name In Australia, most roads ARE off road because the quality is generally pretty ordinary. After all the recent rain in the East, potholes are opening up everywhere, and coming back days after they are fixed. Some are 20cm+ deep and 50cm+ in diameter.....I swear I saw a Smartcar get swallowed up by a larger one recently..... Point being, road bikes that can do 350km/h are all good, but they are designed for optimal conditions. Personally, I prefer to have something that can hit a pothole and have a better chance of keeping the rider and bike in one piece.

Hi! Thanks a lot for this interesting video! As V Strom 1050 owner I'm sorry about the fact they had to give up on the V twin engine. @@OAK_MTN I need something that will get me out of Phoenix and up into the mountains in a few different directions some 1.5 hours away and others 3 hours away. Probably more in the 1.5-2 hour rangr on the interstate cruising 75 minimum. The 690R will handle that no problem. The 890R will take you cross country and it's more comfortable on the highway. It has more of an ADV seat where you set down into the bike a little while the on 690R it's more of a flat seat and you're sitting more on top of the bike. If there wasn't so much weight difference if probably go for the 890R. It weighs 432lbs and the 690R weighs 350lbs. For. My riding it's very difficult to justify the right difference. I also "highly" considered the Tuareg and it is a nice bike. I like it and I have dealer support 30 minutes from my home. I bought and serviced my Ducati from them and ink comfortable with them. In the end it's a heavy dirt bike and it has a lot of nice looking plastic to get messed up dropping it so for those reasons I kinda passed on it. The Tenere too me is too top heavy and will need $2500 or so suspension work. I rode one and to be honest, I didn't care for it much besides the motor so I passed on it also. One really cool thing the 890 has the 690 doesn't is built in case savers that are kind of round and stick out 4" on each side. When you drop the bike and need to drag the front end around pointing a different direction. The bike will somewhat pivot on the case savers making it a lot easier. Anyway, I highly recommend you test ride someone's or rent one for a day or weekend through Riders Share or another rental platform of your choice to get a good feel for each one. I like the looks. I have had both a the 650 and 1000 v-strom . For my on/off road riding at nearly 70 yrs old I may go with the v-strom 650 and and a dr 650. I ride slow off road. Get rid of my v-strom 1000. I can pick up those two bikes used with good aftermarket gear for about 8000 canadian. Weight and cost are a big deal for me. I also need something I can lift as I ride alone. Great overview , thanks.

The least they could do is have the indicators always on. How are drivers supposed to see a single point of light and get any information about how far or fast you are, or that you're even a vehicle? Yamaha has the same design -- a single white projector and that's about it.

What I’m seeing more & more now with the machines equipped with “cruise ready” tech is selling it without to keep an MSRP incrementally less expensive then offer the cruise as an add on in the P&A catalogue. I think it is a cash grab by the manufacturers and disagree with it! Bikes like these should have it stock. Just put it in from the factory & let the customer choose for crying out loud!

In my opinion; THIS EICMA: SUZUKI WON. Both new bikes surprised me the most. The looks, the specs, the colors, the design, and displacements. But I don't get why Honda and Suzuki didn't go for cruise control. My v85tt has cruise control, 850 displacement, design..so for middleweight traveling through Europe, in my case a lot of Amsterdam-Belgrade trips..I'm keeping the guzzi here in the Netherlands (lots of rain etc, so drive-shaft is handy) but if I would choose to have a second bike just for riding in Serbia, to leave there in the garage; it would be the Suzuki.

Dork in the Road recently reported on the TransAlp 750. Its suspension is Preload only,, and a one piece frame. Maybe the 91hp engine will compensate for those sub par components,, 🤔 but I don't really need 91hp 🤷‍♂️. And Honda is always priced higher than the competition. I think Suzuki has a better view of the segment w/the Vstrom 800. And the Gray/yellow is killer 🤩👍. Maybe Bob will report on the TransAlp asap.

It has 91hp, but power delivery has been tuned to better suit adventure riding. The mainframe has gone through major R&D with an integrated heavy duty subframe they managed to make it stronger and lighter than the smaller CB500x. In terms of price honda is already selling the hornet for cheaper than the mt07. And if the rumours are true the transalp will come in cheaper than the t7. The suspension is a worry though. But this is why they'll be able price it very competitively. They had to cut costs somewhere
