I have owned 3 Preludes in my lifetime. A 1980 Prelude, a 1988 Prelude Si 4WS and a 1994 Prelude VTEC. If the specs are good on this new model, I would consider buying it. Looks decent to me.

I’ve also owned 3 Preludes…87 2.0si, 89 2.0 and a 90 ALB and the only generations that departed ‘traditional’ Prelude styling were the 92 - 96 and this one. Honda even went back to its roots with the 97 - 01 Prelude which I thought was so cool! Had a lot of 1st generation Prelude styling elements. Yeah, this does NOT give me any Prelude vibes at all…it’s more like a rework or update to the 2014-17 Accord Coupe, or even last generation Civic Coupe. The high belt line, cab-forward design and stretched/elongated rear end (no matter how many times the narrator calls elegant) are NOT Prelude styling hallmarks! C’mon Honda, if You’re going to bring the Prelude back, at least give us traditional Prelude fans something relatable to the originals!

I absolutely love its looks 100% as is. My appreciation for the concept artists work is above my expectations and Honda should be proud of this work of art. Ive owned a 5th generation for over 15 years and it fits right in with the prelude style and I'm absolutely considering getting one. Im hoping that the ambient sound they make for safty is customizable... that would be a nice touch

I would also love to see the 2.0 turbo used in the Accord a few years back. I am guessing they are going to use the two options currently offered in the Accord - option 1 being the 1.5 liter turbo ( also used in Civic Si) and option 2 using the 2.0 liter Atkinson engine paired with the electric direct drive motor (Accord Hybrid). Whatever it ends up using I am excited to see the return of stylish 2 door coupes. An optional 6 speed manual transmission would be the cherry on top - or even using the power plant from the Civic type R for some sort of top of the line model. One can dream...

​@@DevoTwell if we go by the Prelude's history, the base model should have at least 320+ hp to begin with. Preludes have always had more power than Integra TypeR or civic TR. It was a nicer or more beefed up Accord.

@@Password450 The last gen Preludes had about 200 hp, pretty much the same power as the Civic type R and Integra type R of the same era. The current Civic Si puts out similar numbers. I have a feeling that the upcoming Prelude won't be based on the current Civic type R/Integra Type S performance figures - at least not initially. My guess is Honda will be using the new Prelude as a way to showcase it's modern hybrid tech - which isn't a bad thing. I just hope the production model looks as good as the concept design.

The 4th gen Prelude was my favorite Honda. Not too keen on the Prius-esque front end and the rear is alright I guess. Glad they circled back to clarify it is a hybrid and not an EV tho. LOOKS like it's a hatchback, but don't think it actually is. Hope I'm wrong.

Honda Prelude started off as a 2 door version of a Honda Accord and with that was built off the Accord platform. Now the Honda Prelude is back but this time it’s a 2 door version of a Toyota Prius! Watch, the prelude will come out of the Toyota assembly plant! I will straight lose it if it does! 😂🤣 This actually hurt even saying that! 😭 Being an avid Prelude fanatic (9 Preludes and counting) I will still be getting this… but I will be voicing my opinion till they give true Luders something they desire more than just a revival. That said, the only thing I want the Lude to differ from the CT-R and the IT-S is that we get the same engine… with the hybrid system! 🤪🙌 And if they want to slap the engine in the back and bring back the 3 gen Lude reference (baby NSX) I’m down for that too! 🧚🏿‍♀️🧚🏿‍♀️🧚🏿‍♀️

I’m still looking for the ACTUAL Prelude in this design….ok, so while it’s sleek and has some nice lines, yada yada, and so on and so forth, it TOTALLY doesn’t say Prelude at all but rather Accord or Civic coupe! Having owned a number of Preludes over the years(except the 78-81 & 92-96 generations) I hold the same disappointment Supra enthusiasts/purists had when the GR 90 was introduced. At least the ‘new’ Supra has some styling cues from the 1960’s 2000GT which makes it much more legit than this as a Prelude!
