Pro tip; holding down the rear button for a couple seconds and then using the two window switches will move all the windows at once. I think with winter tires the RWD version is fine for snow. I grew up with RWD cars with no traction control and didn’t spend any time stuck in a ditch. Cars with traction control make AWD not as necessary. But there is still not a heat pump, so range will be less in the cold. It’s clear that while VW talked about OTA, my 2023 version hasn’t gotten the new UI. I don’t know what they send OTA if anything. I don’t recommend buying at the end of a lease. I’m happy with the car, but VW credit got the payoff check in January and didn’t release the title until July. My credit union threatened to increase my interest rate if I didn’t put them on the title, so I had to pay off the loan quickly to avoid that, so I couldn’t use the money for other things. I would either buy it, or lease it and get something new at the end, rather than deal with VW Credit

I'm a diehard VW guy, having owned and driven them for nearly 30 years. We reserved an ID.4 the day the pre-orders launched. We ultimately cancelled the pre-order because of all the bugs VW was experiencing with the ID.4 at the time, but that's irrelevant to my point. My problem with ID.4 is that the Model Y exists. For either the same or less money, you objectively get a vehicle with more performance, faster DCFC, a much more robust and reliable DCFC network, better stereo, better infotainment, much more frequent software updates, a better app experience, etc. I'm not a Teslaphile, and I personally would much rather have the ID.4, but it feels like it's a few feature sets away from being "worth it" relative to the competition (i.e., the Model Y in this example).
