New 5-Section Programmable Visibility Signal Head for Southbound at Bay St & Bloor St in Toronto!

The existing 4-section signal head for southbound at Bay St & Bloor St, was upgraded to a programmable visibility 5-section signal head! The new 5-section programmable visibility signal is so heavy, that it needs to be held by two (2) arms!
Bimodal programmable visibility arrows either don't exist, or are not allowed to be used.

@@andrepoiy1199 They do, but because they're not programmable visibility, they are being replaced with 4-section signal heads.

@@meme-machine The advantage of this is that the signal head has programmable visibility. They don't currently sell bimodal arrows for programmable visibility signal heads. A green and orange arrow would have to be on 2 separate sections. A lot of us traffic signal fans love it, because it's rare to see and very unique. There are only two of them in Toronto that I know of.

Our existing traffic lights with advanced green arrows shows a green arrow then it changes to yellow in the same light space/ circle- i.e. it all fits into 4 light spaces. There is no point adding a 5th. This is just a waste of more money. How many millions will it cost to swap out all the traffic lights just to add a 5th light spot when four works perfectly fine?

@@pacman3556 I don't think programmable visibility signals with bimodal sections exist or are allowed to be used right now. If the signals don't have programmable visibility, then yes a bimodal arrow can be used.

@@jacksonbourrettransportati9852 we currently have green arrows that turn to yellow arrows inside the same existing circle/ light bulb. Or four light bulbs on a traffic signal light. They are everywhere. We have no need to make a traffic signal with five lights. It will cost more to maintain and cost millions to replace existing lights. We already have a working functioning traffic signal that has green to yellow arrows on existing 4 bulb/light traffic signals. There is no need to replace them with a 5 light system that does the exact same thing as the existing 4 light signal.
