I've never splurged on a car but loved this model, and I thought everest would be available given the tacoma trailhunter color is on most trims. Went from a day 1 buy to a nope, and Ive been tracking all year. I'll never understand why toyota is so restrictive on their best colors and their top trims. 😢 no brown interior for it either :/ Such a bummer day after tracking all year, but THANK YOU for the info! Just remember, the 2024 SR5 started at $40,705. Bullet proof V6 and tranny. Lasts for 300K+ miles and decades with regular maintenance. Extremely reliable. Yes, the new one will be more powerful and may have nominally better MPG. But, when pricing is announced…remember $40,705.

People complaining about the stratospheric price increase are probably eyeing the iForce Max trims. The non-hybrid is already more powerful than the 5th Gen's V6, and it is mated to an 8-speed. Even the old V6 would have greatly benefited from having more gears. Don't get greedy; get the non-hybrid, and you'll find the price increase is far less significant.

With the significant price increase for the 6th gen, I would get the non-hybrid TRD OR in Underground (so the matte black/dark gray fender flares won't stand out as much). Hopefully that trim will only be around low to mid $50s.

I like the new body style, but the 4Runner needs a V6 option in order for me to consider buying one in the future. The V6 can be revised or upgraded to have 300+ Hp. My 2016 Highlander has a 3.5 that puts out 270, and they upgraded that engine in 2017 to have 290. So it's possible for the 4.0 to push above 300, maybe even 350

Given the current build timeline, I have decided to pass on purchasing a Toyota for the 2025 model year. It seems likely that there will be a long waiting list for deliveries, which is disappointing. If I were to buy the 2025 model, I would want to receive it between October and November 2024. However, if Toyota continues with these delays in manufacturing, their sales will undoubtedly decline over time. Please don’t misunderstand me-I truly love Toyota and hope they can resolve these issues and return to their previous production pace.

Not surprised by what’s going to be produced….very low numbers of TRD Pros and Trailhawk, which will keep them from stepping on the Land Cruiser and GX. Also, dealers will for sure inflate the TRD Pro and Trailhawk, because they’re limited in numbers! It’s not worth complaining about, it is what it is, as consumers we don’t have to buy it or we can say the value is at the SR5 and we not going for a higher or buy a used 5th gen. It’s not like we are not without any power here.

I don't know if/what I'll be buying, whether GX550 Overtrail (now probably '25 year) or TRD Pro 4Runner. If Toyota can't build enough to get one in whatever color to my dealer, where I've had a refundable deposit down for each going on a year now, I'll just keep my $70K to $90K. I can always just buy something else; maybe a Subaru, used '24 4Runner, whatever fits my mood or nothing to add to my '17 Tacoma and '14 MDX. The other big unknown is how reliable either of my vehicle wants will be. I'm being patient, yet a bit tired of waiting.

Sadly this will share the tacos internal bump stops and no external trans intercooler. That is unless they recently reworked those underbuilt areas. Both of those areas are showstopper issues for me.
