I would have bought it if it had a strobe and replaceable batteries I can understand why they went with the internal battery To prevent users from using batteries that do not meet the required specifications, causing malfunctions and accidents

It is to be expected that someone who buys a light like this is well aware of the ins and outs of flashlights. To me, it's a deal breaker.

Hello Nitecore, The TM09K Pro is a triple nontuple LED light. I don't think there is any term of comparison with other lights at this time. It is obviously a first-timer, experimental flashlight that I'm very happy to purchase and test. The TM09K Pro is a 2000 Lumens flashlight capable of some short but powerful blasts of light. The true innovation of this light is the capability of switching from being a floodlight to being a searchlight, depending if the centre LED or the eight corona LEDs of each nonuple module are activated. This is a serious achievement of optical engineering, but we are all baffled of why the most serious innovation introduced with the TM09K Pro - the flood/spot beam switch - works only on the brightest temporary mode. Engineering - wise, It would have been much more rational for the TM09K Pro to have two coaxial control rings - one for the control of the overall brightness, the other controlling the flood/search beam topology. If you don't want to go all-in with a step-less transition from flood to spot beam, you could at least allow the flood/spot transition for all output levels, i.e. 30-130-500-2000-6000-9000 Lumens, and not only the highest 6K-9K Lumens level. The use of this new incredible capability of beam forming is limited to ten seconds - once in a while. You can do better. Greetings from the UK, Anthony

I never use strobe. People give great importance to this mode, but if you try it in the field, you realise how wrong are all the assumptions made around the use of strobing...

@@rayoflight62 I disagree. I tested strobe on myself with a friend and it's very effective because your eyes can't adjust to the brightness.

@@rayoflight62 That's why Nitecore already made the TM9K TAC for the strobe purpose. It's very useful because it disorientates and blinds assailants on your way. The new TM9K PRO is made for EDC use only with a very limited 7 seconds of lumen shield. Strobe on the TAC runs for more than 2 minutes and it keeps going. I have the TAC and it's amazing. My only complain is that it is just very floody. You need to put it on high all the time if you are outdoors so that you can see further but there is not much detail to the illuminated object.

So, if I need Lumen Shield in a hurry it might not work because the lens might be a little dirty??? Should I carry a micro fiber towel with me every time I carry the flashlight? In case I desperately need Lumen Shield but then lens has to many smudges on it?

I have the older version. It worked well when I had to do security checks around the property. Just having the extra power lets people know someone is on site. To me that was a deterrent to thieves.

I just don't like proximity sensors. Snow and rain mud and debris all make those sensors go off at the wrong time. I have never been dumb enough to burn holes in my pocket. I'd rather have a light I can start fires with if I wanted to.

Build-in batteries in Flashlights are the worst idea ever. The high energy output and the energy density makes the batteries die much faster. I have made my experiences... never again non-user replaceable batteries!

Hi, great video . when the rear blue light flashes fast , does it mean I need to charge ? or is it too early ? how can I know I need to charge ? How can I know I am close to need for charging ? indeed I use the light as a deterrent weapon and cannot risk to have an empty battery while I use it. Thanks , pascal

When the blue light flashes slowly, it mean the battery is less than 50% while it flashes fast, it means the battery is less than 10%, so you better charge it quickly.

Nothing beats the mechanical switch lockout of the edc33/35 IMO. No waiting, no fumbling, no using both hands, no memorizing a checklist, no blasting yourself in the face with a 9000 lumen confirmation flash that blinds you, destroys your night vision, and announces your presence and location to everyone in a 3 mile radius... just slide a switch.

Been a Nitecore for a long time. The built in battery is a problem for me. I’ve been chomping on the bit for this flashlight but the built in battery will eventually die. What will Nitecore do then. This is an expensive flashlight. My current EDC IS MY Nite core MH18 with a removable battery.

Let's start by saying I have an addiction to purchasing flashlights. I own many, with my latest favorite being the P20iX. I walk in the dark a lot. The strobe in invaluable at stopping people from running me over in crosswalks. Even if they are head down texting, the strobe gets their attention. I won't buy a tactical or EDC light without the strobe. I also want a replaceable battery. They don't last forever and I don't want to have to toss out an expensive light because the battery isn't replaceable. I understand integrated batteries make for less wight and a smaller form factor for EDC and keychain lights. But those lights are less expensive. So, I'm OK replacing them every so many years. I would love to have a TM12K, but sadly no strobe and no replaceable battery. And lastly, I love the OLED display on my lights. Every light should have that. You want to know what brightness level you can use while coming down a mountain trail in the dark and still make it to the car. I often use my P20iX in addition to my NU32, and I wish it had an OLED display. Keep up the good work guys. I really appreciate your products.

as with everyone else in this comment section, built in battery will deter me from buying this light. Sure, we will have better light choice by the time internal battery dies on this unit. That is not the point. With high drain lights, if I need to use it for long period of time, I would like to swap battery. Not wait in the dark for charging with portable battery, or carry another light in case this one dies. On high, flashlights of this caliber drains battery quick. It’s not a phone that you can use for all day on a single charge. Search and rescue? Hope you find what you are searching for before battery dies in couple of hours. lol.

Hard pass. I don't like built in batteries but if the feature set was there I would consider it. Not haven't a strobe on my EDC is not going to work. There is huge difference been blinding someone and disorienting someone. Even offset to a threat a P10ix or p20ix strobe is going to bank more time in your favor so you can directly respond and/or put distance been you and the threat. A static wall of light doesn't ***disorient*** a threat enough in my experience. Lumen Shield seems more like a marketing thing to me. If Nightcore really want to step it up- how about a light that really allows the user to customize the beam profile (throw / flood balance)? My Nitecore HC68 headlight has that and EVERY dual channel "Hanklight" or Anduril v2 firmware light can do this. Give me a light that does that and can hold 5000+ lumen for a reasonable about of time (i.e. more than 20 seconds but certainly not tens of minutes) and it would be a clear winner. No special marketing fluff needed. The features would speak loud enough.
