This is my unboxing and review with Beamshots of the all new Acebeam T27 flashlight with 2,500 lumens and 1,180 Meters of Throw. This is a very powerful throwing flashlight in a compact design. This flashlight features a USB type C port with triple charging and uses a 21700 Li-ion Battery. It also doubles as a Battery Bank and outputs 5v/2A to charge your device. It comes with an adaptor so you can use a 18650 Li-ion Battery. It will charge inside the flashlight both the 21700 Battery that comes with it as well as a 18650 battery. You can also use either 2 CR123 Batteries or 2 16340 (Li-ion version of CR123 Batteries) however you can not charge them inside the flashlight. Acebeam offers a 5 year warranty with this flashlight. This is a powerful and very compact Throwing flashlight and has impressed me greatly and stands up to many of the recent Large output throwing flashlights but yet in a size that is easy to carry and use. This light I can see being excellent for search and rescue as well as Military, Police and Fire Department applications and of course for the outdoor enthusiast or for just around the house, farm or large property. There is optional accessories coming out soon a pressure switch as well as different lenses.
Thank You to Acebeam for sending me this flashlight for review and I look forward to reviewing more Lights from them in the future.

This video was made back in 2018 and thankfully, since then there has been a surge in long throwers at affordable prices in a smaller form factor. The Sofirn SF47T can throw 1100 meters if memory serves (and is $79 on amazon), the convoy L7 can throw 1300 meters and there's a half-dozen more I'm forgetting. The cool thing? They're all the size (or smaller than) a standard maglite. A lot of people think throwers are useless and are only good for beam shots in pictures. These people are incorrect. I used to work in security and a powerful thrower is practically a requirement. It helped me look down parking lots to see if people were "getting busy" in their cars at night. It also helped me search the property to make sure there were no trespassers. The long throw was instrumental in helping me stay at a safe distance in case there were threats. I used the Sofirn SF47T and was able to see in a parked car nearly a half mile away. Edit: My brother just informed me that he uses his Acebeam t27 to look for addresses on houses at night in his pizza delivery job. He can't sing praises enough and wondered how the hell he ever did this without it.

Thank you for your comment! I have always liked throwers the best but especially lights that have the best of both a thrower and a flood light! As having worked security in the Military and civilian world both, I wish that we had had the selection of lights that are available now days back then. I use to use a 4D maglite for private security and loved that light (which I still have) as it had a dual purpose (. Baton and light )! I really like the tactical lights best for all around use and my current favorite and most used light is my Brinyte PT28 Oathkeeper with 1,600 Lumens and the tactical ring (which could be used in a self defense situation) I like that you can instantly access strobe by quickly double pressing the tail switch also it’s big brother the Brinyte PT18 Pro with it’s dual tactical tail switches (Turbo/Strobe) and 2,000 Lumens lights up everything very very well! Happy Lumens my friend!

I love this light which I acquired 1 week ago.. Build quality is great, the spread between the lumen modes is sensible and useable. There are NO flaws in finish or construction anywhere. It blows my old 1987 Maglite out of the park, even on low; Maglite 60 lm vs T27 150 lm (low) just turns a stock incandescent Maglite into a museum piece right there, unless you go for one of the modern LED upgrades, but the Maglite really remains just a heavy cudgel with a light rather than a good modern torch. Charge time is fast and the fact that you can use it as a power bank is a handy increase in versatility. While not small enough to count as an EDC, it is small enough to be a sensible job carry but retains huge performance. If you want a good solid EDC, go for the Acebeam L16 with identical high build quality.

I had Olight m3xs ( 1000 m throw) for a while, and it was a great thrower, but than I replaced it with "maxtoch 2x shooter", that is 1200m beam distance, and it is a awesome flashlight, a lot better beam than olight. But both of them are 2 battery flashlights, and now I see T27... Compact, "strong", nice quality, memory modes excelent, and I think that this will be my next flashlight.

Two things I immediately didn't like: 1. Side button is not easy to find by touch. Pull the torch out of the holster in the dark and try to quickly find the button without some additional tactile aid near button and you'll see. 2. USB charging cord has to be the shortest in history of charging cords.

I'm not too happy about the very short charging cable; i have to place a small pile of books on the ground to reach the power outlet in the wall. Not the biggest problem, right? I still have a 3 year old Nitecore TM36 'tiny monster' that's literally brand new. The only thing I've done was open the package, charged the batteries and identified, yup, it's a flashlight. The difference between the TM36 and this new Nitecore depicted here? Size and Weight. The TM36 is easily double the size and weight yet, offers the same Throw and Spill. The TM36 is extremely well built but every bit as heavy as the Olight SR95UT and almost as heavy as the Olight X9R. Nitecore may have found something that other competitors haven't figured out yet, go powerful and go smaller in the same package.

I am still deciding on weather to order the ace beam w30 still deciding on it, but I just recieved the beast of the beast of all flashlights a couple days ago the i alert ms18 with turbo mode 100k lumens but it’s a beast of a flashlight and not very practical due to the weight of it but it is a beast non the less but now I am spoiled as my brightest lights in the past was the old wicked lasers torch 4,200 lumens using 100 watt halogen bulb but glass is cracked and burnt marks on it need replacement lens then got a Nebo redline 6k lumen flashlight I loved it but now that I have the ms18 it just has a wow factor that no other can compare . But will be looking into small 5k lumen and up flashlights to keep adding to my collection.

Do you think this is much of an upgrade over my Olight Javelot M3XS-UT? It’s their dedomed model. It boast 1200 lm with a claimed 1000 meters and 250,000 candela. Also, do you thing the battery from this Acebeam will fit in my Nitecore d4 charger?? Good job with the review. Thanks.
@PrecisionGroupYT
@PrecisionGroupYT 5 жыл бұрын
Hi John Doe, unfortunately I do not own a M3XS-UT but going off the specs the 1000m is certainly very good and better than even the two Mini Throwers (Catapult V6 & ODL20c) I reviewed previously however with the Lumens only being 1200 I think the big upgrade would be going From 1,200 to 2,500 Lumens! ( that you would notice as a big jump in performance) I hope this helps answer your question and thank you for Watching and commenting!!

How does the run time compare to the K70? I own a K70 and it has only been charged 2 times in the last 2 years.. it is my "find the cat in the back yard at night" light and use it about once a week..granted l use it in the 2nd or 3rd setting the high is eye melting and just not nice on the cats eyes. I like this T27.. looks great..l am a Acebeam/Olight fan boy.. they both have lights that the other doesnt have so between the two its all covered..both are excellent quality for the money. The focus of the beam jacks up the candela tremendously which is how my W30 out throws all of these with only 500 lumen, the candela on this T27 l am sure is super high for its size, l gotta have one. great vid.. thanks!
@PrecisionGroupYT
@PrecisionGroupYT 3 жыл бұрын
Hi James Hill, the run times are not going to be as long as the K70 but then of course the K70 has 4 Batteries 🔋 instead of one. I believe both lights have their uses and I love both of them. The K70 will run for a long time on Turbo and does not step down like the T27 will but the T27 has an excellent amount of power and throw in a compact form and is easier to grab and go and carry over the K70! If I have to go check out something quickly I’ll grab the T27 but if I need a light for say an Extended Search then the K70 is my choice! Thank you for your comments and Happy Lumens 🔦

Hello, Do you think the Acebeam T28 is the BEST single cell/single emitter Thrower in its class?
@PrecisionGroupYT
@PrecisionGroupYT 4 жыл бұрын
I have the T27 and I did review the specs of the newer T28 (which they increased the size of the Reflector over the T27 to get the longer throw on the newer T28) and I would have to say yes to your question.....with that said I love both my T27(Acebeam) and the Catapult V6 (Thrunite)....I love the size and throw of the Catapult V6 (you can easily carry it as it’s not cumbersome and in most cases 750m of throw is plenty) but while the T27 is a bit larger It definitely has more punch over the V6 and I love the tactical tail switch over the side switch of the Catapult V6 making it easier to point and shoot the light quickly at what you want to look at! They both have their pros and cons but for a single cell thrower I think you’ll love the Acebeam T28......happy lumens🔦

@PrecisionGroupYT
@PrecisionGroupYT 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ninjamaster77, as I don’t own the new Olight Warrior Turbo I will have to give you my humble opinion based off the specs of the Olight vs. the Acebeam T27. I must say the Olight looks much more rugged and Tactical than the T27 but spec wise I must still give the T27 the favor as the T27 has 2,500 lumens vs the Olight’s 1,100 lumens (And 2,500 vs 1,100 will be a greatly noticeable difference in light output) also the throw of the T27 is 1,180 meters vs the 1,000 of the Olight so again output and throw wise the T27 and the newer T28 spec wise win. The truth is you need to go with your gut a little bit and as I said the Olight definitely looks more rugged has some great features but as I said in light output and throw the T27 seems to be on top. And also if you can get a T28 with it’s 2,500LM and 1,300m of throw I think you would be quite happy! I hope this helps and Happy Lumens 🔦

The driver can drive batteries harder battery technology has hardly improved for 10 years. Choosing to use lower runtime batteries has sparked interest in both high output proprietary cells that light companies require/ recomend and in fat 20700 and 21700 batteries that have the high drain of 20 amps and also have 4000-4800 mah. But in your low mode you will still see longest runtime with larger mah batteries.

@PrecisionGroupYT
@PrecisionGroupYT 5 жыл бұрын
In all honesty Will EDC I am not sure! The W30 is a White Laser light that has a max of 500 lumens instead of the T27’s 2,500 lumens and to be perfectly honest the human eye has a hard time seeing much beyond about 750-900 meters! While the light has a heck of a beam distance (the W30) I am not sure about the 500 lumen Max? However I would love the chance to compare the T27 to the W30 but the w30 is a hunk of change perhaps I will get lucky and Acebeam will send me one to check out!!!! I’ll keep my fingers crossed 🤞
@arrowe487
@arrowe487 4 жыл бұрын
The W30 is more of a weapon class 3 laser. It is one bad ass thrower. I have the L16 and for a small light it throws 603m @ 2000 lumens it will blind you can't imagine being hit with the w30 eyes might not recover.

can it only last 96 seconds on turbo mode /1 charge ? or can you use turbo mode again after the flashlight cools off ?
@PrecisionGroupYT
@PrecisionGroupYT 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Sebi C, Thank You for your excellent question! After testing and as I suspected the Light steps down because of temperature and not because of rapidly draining the battery, In my test the T27 stayed at Turbo for 3 minutes and since the step down is temperature related and not battery related I perhaps got a longer run time do to the ambient temperature at the time being 79 degrees F, after the light cooled for about 15 minutes the light would go right back in to full Turbo (2,500 lumens) with no issues. And during the test while the light did get hot it was not unbearable and the heat stayed around the button and the head while the end of the flashlight was still cool 😎 enough to hold without discomfort. I hope this answers your question Thank You for Watching and please subscribe if you have not done so already and Happy Lumens!! Also after this test and the battery having been fully charged ( to 4.2V) the battery was still at 4.03 volts

Sorry I saw auto correct messed up it’s called imalent ms18 if you want a bad a king of flashlights and you have 669 to spend, I highly recommend getting one it’s just unreal. Only reason I really bought one was I can use all my flashlights up at my parents camp 17 plus acres of beautiful private property with out having to worry about bothering anyone or possibly getting into trouble by possibly blinding someone and I love I can run my ms18 at the 5k lumen setting for close to 7 hours of solid use really anything above the 5 and 10k lumen mark is true over kill but me personally I enjoy having that option if needed or just to show friends or family how bad a these 🔦 have come from 20 years ago I wouldn’t be surprised if the government gets involved on how bright a consumer flashlight can be but for the here and now I’ll be buying em up like crazy 😆
@PrecisionGroupYT
@PrecisionGroupYT 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Don, yeah the ms18 seems crazy and a beast!!! While I’ll admit a 100K Lumen Flashlight seems awesome I just don’t see the need for myself at this juncture and while I don’t have a light with that much output I do have 2 Acebeam X80’s so I could put out about 50K Lumens if needed or for fun ( probably more for fun)! And size wise I know the ms18 is really big and I just sold off my Lumintop BLF GT because it was just too darn big to really be practical for my current needs...... I still really love my Acebeam K70 as my big throwing flashlight and could not justify holding on to the BLF GT any longer ( took up allot of space! ). I agree and many people have said that they also expect at one point for the Govt to step in to put limits on civilian flashlights but that would probably be initiated by some knuckle head ruining it for the rest of us and doing something stupid with one of these high powered flashlights! Thanks for watching and commenting and Happy Lumens and have fun 🔦

21700 in this light is kind of pointless given the short run times.much better options at this price point out there
@PrecisionGroupYT
@PrecisionGroupYT 5 жыл бұрын
Hi chefgav1, while I can understand where your coming from, until Battery tech improves more and active cooling is more common in order to reach the outputs in the thousands of Lumens from a single cell (not multi cell) and not over heat the light this is still really useful @ 1400 lumens and honestly for me most throwers like this I do not plan or expect being able to run them for hours on Turbo I just use them for quick spotting if I wanted to light up the night and move around I would grab a flood style light! And in case you do need to run on max turbo in a Thrower for long periods the Acebeam K70 will run on full turbo (2,600 lumens) for 2 Full hours straight!!!!!! Thank you for watching and Happy Lumens
@PrecisionGroupYT
@PrecisionGroupYT 5 жыл бұрын
Hi chefgav1 I wanted to give you an update in relation to your original comment. I had a viewer ask if this light steps down while in Turbo do to the battery draining so fast or do to temperature and after further testing the light steps down do to temperature and not because of short comings of the 21700 battery. THE TEST: I was able to get 3 minutes of run time at full Turbo (2,500LM) (ambient temperature during test 79 degrees F) before the light stepped down, and after letting the light cool down it would jump right back to Turbo in fact when I initiated this test the 21700 battery was fully charged to 4.2V and after the test the battery was still at 4.03V..... hope this helps!

Hi chefgav1 great to hear from you again! This light is really awesome (and I am not just saying that because Acebeam was kind enough to send me the light). When I get the Thrower comparison video up this will be even more evident! I think you will/ would be impressed with the T27 as I am, in fact I ordered a spare Acebeam 21700 IMR Battery (always like to have a spare battery(‘s) for all my lights) and a new charger that can fit the 21700 batteries (my current chargers do not take 21700 cells) Now while you can charge the battery in the T27 (and I have numerous times) as with all my USB charging capable flashlights I still prefer taking them out and charging them in a quality battery charger separately, but like the USB charging capability as a back up and for in the field! Take care and Happy Lumens 🔦😊

Hi Greg Rickard, it would be nice to acquire a T28 to compare to the T27 head to head although the T27 & T28 use the same LED and have the same lumens out put they did seemingly slightly increase the size of the T28’s head and length over the T27 this is most likely how they have increased the throw from 1192m to 1300 (slightly larger and more refined reflector!! I’ll stick to my Thrunite Catapult V6 1. It fits in my pocket and 2. Anything over 700 meters is unrealistically possible to see without binoculars. A 700 meter thrower is plenty for daily use. You cannot put that Acebeam in your pocket and it starts down stepping around 2 to 3 minutes while a Thrunite Catapult V6 can run continuously for an hour and a half on full turbo on a 26650 battery.
