Only 48 families? How is a family supposed to live in these when the kids have no back or front yard to play in, and a balcony is obviously not safe for children...48 out of thousands isn't much of a difference, plus I bet there's a long waiting list like Calgary housing.

My mother in law just sold her condo for a $60,000 loss. Adding more inventory to a flooded market should help those that have worked hard all their lives, stayed in a marriage through thick and thin. Guess you help the less privileged but also those that make bad choices in life. Then, everyone pays the price. I don't really understand this idea at all. How can this building cost any less to build than the crap the builders are building unless this is somehow built on the backs of all hard working Calgarians. This is totally messing with my head. Please explain how this works and where the money comes from and how some can live for way less than others when the same materials and labour are needed to build this versus any other building that is sold in this City. Please explain in full.

Hi Rich, affordable housing solutions require the participation of each order of government. We also conduct research to enable evidence-based decisions, create policies and programming that advance affordable housing in our city and support advocacy efforts with our government partners. You can find more information at www.calgary.ca/affordablehousing.

Your mother in law decided to sell her property and loos money. Always in any where people are not the same financially for many reasons and good governments and societies have to help those who are in need. If you need help and you can apply. If you can afford better, good for you. # Be positive # Be wise. # Love always
