That is a great gloss that went down very quickly!

Don't tell Tamiya or Mr. Color, but I think it's nicer than their versions.

AK Lacquer thinners here in the UK are extortionate. £10 is not unheard of for just 100ml. So I decided to give Tamiya Lacquer Thinner a try with the AK lacquer colours and it works pretty well and it's only £7 for 250ml.

The Tamiya style bottles have been discontinued and the range consolidated. I picked up a lot of new old stock bottles from the Australian distributor recently as they were selling them off at 40 percent off. The gloss you got was impressive and more than good enough for weathering and decals etc. Curious how it compares to AK-'s 1K gloss they have in the larger bottles now.

I did that as well over the summer, and I got quite the collection of their paints. I hope to use a lot of them on future projects as I really like the tone of their paints.

The only AK products that I've used are the AK chrome paints. I've never seen them in any of my local hobby shops (same with Mr. Hobby paints). Also, I love Mr. Hobby Leveling Thinner AKA Unicorn Tears. lol

I tried their Xtreme Metal paint, and I really didn't like it, I had a hard time getting that paint to stay consistent. And it was so fragile. Their Real Colors and Acrylics I really like, especially these Lacquers, once you get that right mixture of thinner they spray beautifully. I actually got 2 bottles of Levelling Thinner in the mail yesterday, I was running out and that stuff is impossible to find in Canada for some reason.

Need to thin them buddy. They thin well with their own thinner or mr hobby or tamiya x20. Same oloaints as were in jar but don't soray straight from bottle

Do you have a new compressor?

Very observant of you, yes I have. Sadly there is an error with it and I should have a replacement soon, and then I'll do a full review on it

Unfortunately paint range is cut in half .

Hopefully they will make a come back soon. I imagine they will monitor how well these paints sell first.

Pre thinned paint is a rip off If you want good clear lacquer then buy 1ltr of 1K automotive clear in NZ it is about $100 for a good quality paint... We pay around $6 for 10ml of either AK or Gunze

That's good advice, but I would like to try the Zero Paints 2K Clear, I just found a distributor here in Alberta which is really cool.
