Benin is undergoing a transformative period of development, with modernization projects spread across its regions. These initiatives aim to improve public services, reduce the country’s costs, and create more efficient administrative hubs. Central to this vision is the creation of new administrative cities across Benin, projects designed to group decentralized services in modern, purpose-built facilities. This strategy aims to streamline operations, enhance service delivery, and improve working conditions for public servants, all while making it easier for citizens to access public services. The ambitious program, spearheaded by President Patrice TALON, encompasses projects from the southern city of Abomey to the northern and western regions, reshaping the country’s administrative landscape.

Poverty begets poverty. One of the things that keeps African countries poor is funnily enough, other African countries. Why? Trade is the path to wealth, and limited infrastructural links and potential for trade, means that poverty really is just fuelling poverty in Africa. So when you have some countries making progress, it is great news for the rest of the continent, as eventually we can get some critical mass for a tide of change. Central African countries for example are not simply poor due to mismanagement and being landlocked, but given that their nearest trading partners are fellow poverty stricken central African nations, it doesn't bode well. Most likely the coastal African countries will have to be fixed first, then some of that growth might spillover into the centre. People talk about how developed Europe is, but wealth also begets wealth. If you put countries like Albania, Georgia, Kosovo etc. in Africa, they might be poorer than Tanzania. This theory does paint a different picture to how beaten down Africa really is. If you fixed 15 countries in Africa, you might just have fixed the whole continent.
