Thanks for the walk-through Ola!! Pod Farm 2.5 HD Metal Pack although "ancient" (like me) still kicks ass to this day (like me)!! The one thing the Marshall Plugin does that I wish Pod Farm would do is be able to combine mics. But that's where IR loaders come in! Positive Grid's Bias Amp 2 is awesome as well!! New doesn't always mean better. Would love to see/hear you test drive an original Peavey Butcher stack!!

I am a huge Neural DSP fan. I have been searching for a more classic amp sound so I can play Satriani sounding stuff. Granted I don't own a JS series Ibanez but I just haven't been able to recreate his amp tone, yet. There is the Joe Satriani Amplitude but it just sounds muffled like most if their stand alone plugins. I first used Amplitube a couple years ago. I hope this plugin can deliver to meet what I hear in my head.

Been using the new Amp Room for about a year now. It destroys anything from Neural, ML Sound Labs, Amplitube 5, and probably anything else out there for cleans, metal, effects... Whatever you need. Haven't seen anything as well thought out or easy to use as this. It truly rewards creativity and individuality. They give you more ways to use your stuff, not just more stuff to use. Get as brutal, weird, or normal as you want. The cabs are the real key here. Use one, use two, go stereo, combine them with the crossover, and more. Add some of that API eq and some room reverb and you're good. And you're getting cabs done by Daniel Bergstrand,Tony Platt and Terry Date, which is crazy. Stocking up on Marshalls and other extras can get expensive fast, but they are worth it.

MetalZone has SO much adjustability that anyone should be able to make it sound good. My MT-2 Sounds great running through a Decimator into the front of my Marshall Haze 40 all-tube amp on clean channel. The Haze is heavy on the low-end, so the MetalZone’s highs really work with it. I'm with you. I like the idea of options, but I quickly find out I don't know what I'm doing. I think the trick is to find something that sounds ok then save it. Come back to it a day or two later. If it still sounds good, you win. More often than not, I go "what the fuck was I thinking" and delete it.

One thing I did was consider the 3 top sounds I was really after, then I tried to find the best solo recordings of those sounds I could find for a reference. When creating a tone do you suggest dialing in the eq before dialing in the cab? 🤘
@marcorodriguez7694
@marcorodriguez7694 3 жыл бұрын
I'm not Ola but set all your knobs even at 12 o clock then choose your cabinets first. Once you find the cab/mic sounds and positions that you're happy with, then start messing with the EQ. That's usually what I do. There's instances when I'll find a good combo of cabs/ speakers and mics that I usually don't even mess with the eq all that much.

I mean that today because of Internet and all streaming platforms you can find and listen so many bands that it is hard to find something new and fresh. Constructive criticism is when compared to other (Neural) plugins it seems very brittle to me. Lacks in the low mid and low end and has a bunch of high end that I would be sculpting with an eq. Maybe building those complex preset-sized scenes is the way to get something.

You have amazing focus to go through these things. A million amps, and, effects, and IR's. And then the same for hardware modelers. Its exhausting, and dare I say pointless. What most rock guitarists want is a killer tone that immediately breaks up into perfect harmonic feedback when playing at stage volume. In other words, a tube amp.

I tried Amp Room a while ago and it was pretty meh so I kind of understand why people ignored the new one for the most part. I got the new tape echo plugin and while I was there got the demo of the Marshalls and stuff, and it's been vastly improved. I don't think it gives up anything to my Fractal FM3, except that the reverb options are limited but I can just throw LX480 on a send in the DAW anyway. It's also more fun for experimenting with the room options - drop out all close mics and just have the room for atmosphere in the background of other sounds.
