It does my heart good to see her. She took the trip in stride. She looks inquisitive but content. Thank you for loving my girl! I can see you both will be happy forever. Sue

Thank you for sharing this with us Jini. It's very heartwarming to see one's heart horse recognize and relax into the loving home she was destined for. A horse that settles in that quickly and easily is clearly understanding she can trust the two leggeds around her. Angela

Its nice to see how you have changed/learned how you 'handle' horses now compared to when she came here in this video 5 years ago. You are so much better in touch now, great to learn from! Here, you are more from 'horse culture' compared to now you are more 'Listen to your Horse' culture! What a movement you have begun!

Yes, they have taught me SO MUCH!! And every day still I learn so much. Mind-boggling! Glad to have you with us on the journey xo

wow. She was in great shape here !

Not really - this video is deceiving because she just came off a 5-day trailer journey and she was really 'pulled up/in' from the excitement. She has a lot of fat on her, but not to worry, after plenty of natural movement and slow-feeding low sugar hay she is in great shape now.

She is gorgeous!! I love dapple grey horses and I adore Andalusians.! Stunning horse. Will she eventually turn all white ( palest of grey)? As I’ve heard that all grey horses turn white. Is that true, or can some grey horses keep their dark grey colouring ?

She is supposed to - as both her sire and dam are pure white. Her sister turned white by age 3. But she's 13 now and still dappled!

1:44 minutes to get the horse out of the trailer...wow
@ListenToYourHorse6 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by 'wow' but it's always best to let horses exit a trailer on their own time. It's surprising how long even wild horses can take to exit a trailer. They are very cautious to map the environment they're walking into before they exit. Letting them take their time helps avoid trailer-trauma issues.

Back with his owner and mum and siblings - he was just on a temporary free lease with my daughter. But in the winter he asked to return home to his family and way more land!

I hope you don't make this beautiful horse compete. Competition is how sad humans glorify themselves with ribbons and trophies on the back of the animal that just wants to live his/her life.

Nope! If you head on over to the blog Sherry you can read lots more stories about Zorra and the other horses. Here's one you might find interesting about the time Zorra explored how much CHOICE she was entitled to, not too long after she arrived: listentoyourhorse.com/intimacy-with-a-horse-involves-choice/

I feel sorry for horses who are made to trot around in a circle over and over and over. It must be so boring for them and so tiring. It's not normal horse behavior. It's behavior that man imposes on them.
@ListenToYourHorse6 жыл бұрын
I totally agree! This was just an attempt to let her 'run out' a bit while keeping her calm/controlled after 5 days on a trailer. As you can see, it didn't work too well and I quickly let her off lead to manage her own movement. More info about why running horses in circles is bad for their legs here: listentoyourhorse.com/working-horses-in-circles-part-1-effects-on-limbs-and-hooves/

Oh I see what you mean. I misunderstood. I though right out of the trailer she was made to start her lessons in ground work. I'm so glad you corrected my misunderstanding. She is a beautiful horse and now has a lovely home.

Sherry Caraway , just let eat and drink and stretch her legs.

I felt uncomfortable watching her go around and around it gave her anxiety. Is a method of human control making her act a certain way. Would have been best just to let her be herself freely letting her get familiar with her surroundings. She's absolutely beautiful I don't think they meant anything by it they do seem to have kind hearts and will take very good care of her.

She is wearing a leather halter - the chain is on the leadrope. Not my choice - belonged to the trailer guy. I prefer soft cotton. And lately, just a length of rope threaded through the halter so there is no heavy, clanging clip either.
