NEW Andis Premium Guards

I've actually been using the original model of those clips for a long time. Like some people have commented below, it use to come with the Andis Masters. But I've been using them on an oster fast feed with the 913-53 blade since 2005/06. They are the best and only clips I use with an oster fast feed, and oster detachable blade 30, 40, and 50. I also use them on an a wahl magic clip, with a standard andis envy blade. For, some reason, on a cordless envy li, the original clips pulled with the standard blade that came with the machine. so i swapped magic clip blade to a cordless envy, and envy blade to magic clip. These new guides you have look perfect for what imm currently doing with the original model.

Best way to zero gap is to replace the cutting blade wit one from a #1 Oster detachable blade....fits perfect with no mods.

The long guard gives a nice comb over cut blend using clippers only!

The wahl distance from moving blade to top of the non moving blades is usually wider then andis. Andis and oster have a wider range so the #0 guard fully open lever can go close to a 1 or 1 and a quarter

yo these guards are dope to use with envy li cordless!!! i use them with the regular taper blade and i have another pair of envy li with fade blade! but these work best with taper blade imo because them blend together beautifully

The extended length and thickness of those guards makes a difference...It’s called “purchase”, where the guard grabs hair to be cut...You don’t want guards to be flexible or move..The stiffer they are and the better that they can “purchase” the hair, the least that you have to make passes over the same area, which is why detachable clipper blades has THE best ability to grab hair and cut...Those guards with the length and thickness looks to be great!

So you recommend this guards instead of the double magnetic guards? I will use it for the same, for a oster topaz and a andis master. Also you can complete the guards if you have the double magnetic guards. 5 and 1.5 right.

The fast feeds open up to a number 1.. Do you know how this affects the fade when using the andis guards on top .. is a open fast feed with a number 1 guard on really a closed number 2 and so on?

These are very good for normal cuts but however I feel the 0 dont connect well when fadeing

Hey i got those andis purple ones and they keep sticking to my head. I accidently bought the wahl ones because I didn't check if they'd fit on my fast feed that are the rainbow addition or whatever and they don't stick. Are these like those? Or do they stick as well because of that sticky plastic guards..

if the #1 blends just like #1 double magnetic, then it shouldn't be an issue. coz #1 dm and #2 dm blends smoothly together without using a 1 1/2 guard

Jeremiah Collins It’s not an upgrade! They are the same black plastic guards that used to come with the Masters when Andis gave them to you! They just have that silver piece on the face! Save your money or get another set of purple magnetic guards or but the 1/2 and the 1 1/2 if you feel you need it another waste of money IMHO! It’s all marketing to sell uninformed barbers bullshit they don’t need!

Based on the thickness, the Wahl 1/16 inch guard looks like it cuts closer than the Andis 1/16 inch guard. Has anyone compared the two?

Yes you are absolutely right! I compared the 2. But if you use the cordless master's you would not need this guard since it's blade is from a 000 to a equivalent 1 guard. Also I compared # 2s guards of both brands. The Andis one cuts shorter than the wahls #2. Wahls #2 is a bit far off from the Wahl 1 1/2 guard where Andis #2 blends perfectly with a wahls 1 1/2 guard.

got me a cordless master with double magnetic guards. to be perfectly honest... and i'm sure i'm going to get a lot of hate for this..........i'm not feeling these double magnetic guards at all. i mean i've used the single magnetics with my envy's before...and they sucked because the comb teeth were crap. the double magnetics feel WAAAAY more premium...harder and thicker plastic, smaller spacing between the teeth....but the magnets on the double magnetics are just too damn strong. when i lay them down on the table while working they stick and clump together. those magnets are so damn strong that i need extra effort to take them off the clipper. if you "click" them out, they stick to another part of the blade. so it's like...yanking them off the clipper twice if you know what i mean? it's so damn sticky that you have to slide them into and out of place with force that it actually mis-aligns the damn blade that I already zero-gapped properly. If you leave them in a barbicide jar, they stick together and sometimes you don't get to disinfect them properly. It's like dealing with super glue all the damn time. Got sick of it and decided to get these master premium metal clip combs. i'm getting them today. hopefully they're great. The teeth on these premium metal clip combs look thick and sturdy, but they're not as many as the ones on the double magnetics.

Jaymell yea they belong to each separate pack! I have the new regular gaurds with my andis envy li nation and they world of different from the ones that use to come with the envy li and the half and 11/2 are beast even tho the gaurds already blend but these two guards make a difference imo

the problem with the magnetic guards by andis is its very similar to speed-o-guide by otster, they both get chewed by the metal blade on the machine, they don't last long the teeth also break off very easily , this is why i prefer either the premium or metal tooth comb guards (not to be confused with All metal detachable blades).

naz only time blade chews through guards are if you have you blades to zero gapped flush! I’ve had my magnetic guards 6-8years and they are still in great shape and I have my clippers right at zero gap but just a hair under! But these premium guards are like the speedo I can hear the hair being cut which s why I love using these over the magnetic and the fade better imo but they all work good In they own way for different things

TMoney in my opinion same thing ... fast feeds also have a longer blade for fading... so no need for half guard ... but to close the gap u need to buy the #1 metal clip and replace the original and u get the zero gap there videos here on that ...

Ty Herr yeah bro I’m sure I have the correct guards... I also figured out what the problem was... the metal clips on the back of the guards were sticking out to far... I bent them inward more and now the fit perfectly... so if anyone else has this problem that’s a quick fix

Benny Cuts It would be nice. Idk, i still don't fully understand why they say it is not needed. Idk why they don't just make one system for all clippers. Also i would like to kno why they even came back to these black ones when a couple years ago, the magnetic guards were the greatest thing ever. Like am i missing something? But i did have to get dual magnets AND signle magnets because the doubles dont fit on octane metal guards, the singles fit snug instead. And the singles dont fit snug on fadeblade on a master, the duals though. Lol that kinda sucks.

Shorter the teeth are on the guards the better that's why blades cut so much better than plastic guards Wahl premium the number one and a half guard just cut better than andis

Men... the andis guards is different then whal guards. At the andis guards you don't need one and a half guard because one guard and two guard are combined. If you don t know one guard with the lever closed at the andis guards is only one(3mm) and one guard with the open lever is one and a hald guard like (4,5mm) that means you have already one and a half guard in number one guard. You need to learn more about bearbering. Good luck

some truth but not exactly the truth! depends what andis guards you're using! the guards that came with the original envy li didn't blend into each other at all! but they have now updated those and they blend together beautiful no so it depends which ones you use! i have them all so I've had a lot of experience with them

The new guards you started the demo with suck for the 1/16. They will not cut as short as the older andis 1/16 guard. Thinner is better. Not to be confused with the wahls your showing. I’m so disappointed with andis
