I still haven't seen the vositse yet but I'm sure I will soon! Will be great to see harry and niffler interacting! Wow maxine you are a very busy bee with your side project on top! Baby bat has grown so much! The old parrot house is coming along great! The team and especially your dad is so clever! I'm saying tropical birds are what you plan to go in there. I planned to come up this week but never made it sadly, hopefully can make one last visit of the year next week instead! Hope all the animals, keeper, and the team have a wonderful Christmas!

So glad about the new Potoroo and Vositse (sic?🤔) Ahhh, that baby bat is mint! Dunno if you’ve named it yet? I call it “Ed” after Ed Sheeran coz it’s so ginger! 😁👍🏻 I’d like to see a sloth in the revamped parrot house. Their cute button noses and gentle ways are adorable 🥰 A lovely Christmas to you Maxine, your top Dad (who always gives us a cheery wave and comes over for a chat) and to all your family, staff and fabulous animals. Great video! Love the new additions and the rarer animals you have in your collection by UK standards 😊 Time to put my tinfoil hat on, here's my theory on who/what the new residents of the Parrot House will be 😅 In this video, Maxine (hello again Maxine 👋🏻😁) shows the latest developments and says that they're looking at 4 species for this space. This got me thinking of what 4 species would suit that space well both with the planting and the guest viewing but also keeping the South American/rainforest theme. I think it is going to house (when completed): - a species of marmoset (possibly common marmoset since the zoo has a great track record of taking in rescued animals from trafficking and the illegal pet trade and the common marmoset is one of the most trafficked primates in the UK). - a species of tamarin (could be any but perhaps one of the rarer species kept in captivity). - a species of Agouti (the water feature and pool makes me think there will be some animal present that likes the water). - a species of Sloth (Linneaus's or Hoffmann's Two-Toed Sloth most likely). I'd also throw an Armadillo species in as an alternative as that fits the South American theme too but there are Armadillos already at the zoo and these 4 species will likely be completely new species to the zoo 🤔 That and the Armadillo would absolutely wreck all the wonderful planting in that habitat 😂 OR, it could be 4 bird species since it is no longer going to be a walkthrough habitat 🤔 I don't know, I'm probably way off with my guesses but that's what I can imagine in that space. Either way, whether I'm right or wrong, I'm looking forward to seeing the habitat progress and seeing what the finished habitat looks like once all the inhabitants have moved in 😊 Keep up the amazing work and I wish you, the staff and the animals a Merry Christmas 😊

Lakeland wild life Oases in Cumbria have a pr of Potaroos. they seem to be able to breed them really well. But they are not in the dark they keep them in a daylight exhibit.
