Gaia is basically the burgundians from AOE 2. You HAVE to use the economic upgrades an age early, or you'll fall behind. Because you have to buy the upgrades, you can't go 2nd TC as fast, or do extremely aggresive plays. You also have a defenders advantage on lush. You can use gaia's forest on your initial watchtowers so they can't be taken down. You have to play the game different as gaia, but she is deadly when you figure it out. I've been wrecking 1v1 ladder with Leto-Theia-Atlas, focusing on eco upgrades, into 2nd tc, then heroic pressure with contarius raids and destroyer building focus.

losing that first big fight for gaia was the decider, son of osiris really sealed the deal for isis too

Gaia building contarius and arcus against camelry was painful to watch. At least he went for katapeltes at the end. Also researching serrated blades and not building a single murmillo?

yeah i think the same maybe some destroyers mixed in to soak CA shots would be be the play so katapeltes+destroyer and playing offensiv since Isi got a rather mobile army than death push

Well the 'pretty good gaia player' only played good till heroic at which point he just threw the game i.e. took bad fights, didn't raid enough with the cav while losing all his citizens everytime he got raided. If you wanna play more static you should rush heroic and build towers tcs and fortresses everywhere and taking fights only under your defences you'll eventually come out on top cause you took the more effective fights.

Tbh: I don't care about whether a civilization is considered strong or weak. I play the ones I enjoy the most. t's minimally less frustrating to play when a civilization has been buffed, especially when playing against stronger opponents. The fun still comes from the civilization's playstyle, look and fell, and not from a tierlist. Just my opinion.

Atlanteans need better buffs every casted game I see they get smoked checked by everyone. They need better buffs every civ is better than them

I dont know if i would want another son of osiris for 350 favor. They are good but i dont know if they are that good, maybe if it was more like 250 favor. Do they get healed? I haven't paid attention in the skirmish i tried it out. They do get a lot better in cost after a wonder is built and can bring 1 out every 1 minute 30 seconds when pharo respawns but the time it takes to get there idk you might just be better off chucking tornadoes around. But even just having 3 empowers is nice to try and keep up with greek favor output and myth unit production, especially with priest nerfs.

Hi! I agree with You, that said in such cases when a top player plays so poorly I always remember any number of things could be going on, from bad sleep, to too much coffee, to a cold/fever/injury to whatever else might just make someone play sloppily for a few days but afterwards they're back to full throttle 🤔

This was why the +15 seconds to go to age 3 was useless. Age 2 is just so quick and easy to pass through; you never see anyone interact with other players 90% of the time in age 2. They need to have added +100 food and/or gold in addition, then maybe people would stay in age 2 more than a couple seconds.

I absolutely hate that their first instinct was to perform units instead of buffing weaker units, I had so much fun with my priests in the campaign and now they've been needed and simply aren't fun for me anymore, what they should have done I what they kinda did is buff weaker units like the Cyclops, still not gonna use them though because why would I whe their other gods unit is way cooler and fits my playstyle far better? I hate they nerve hydras and Sylla too, those are by far my favourite units in the game despite Gai being my favourite God, wish I could have hydra as her instead of behemoths.

You only get 1 Pharoah to make as Son of Osiris, the other Pharoahs you get from Age up are Heros and cannot be made into Son of Osiris.

If you use son of Osiris you will get another pharaoh though. Also you can research the double pharaoh Osiris provides. You can have multiple sons of Osiris provided you have the favor for it.
