As awesome as awesome! The dialog is great and much more realistic than Lionel's camelback crewtalk/towercom in an era when they didn't have any radio communication, assuming that the Lionel camelback models depict as originally built in the 1800s, and not as retired in 1950s. But at any rate they just stuck Mr. Lionel in there and I have the same dialog in my NH PA/AA and UP GTEL. There's no fake towercom here. It's just engineer, fireman and conductor. You can imagine them shouting at each other to be heard over the steam. Much more interesting. I don't know how much extra it would cost Lionel to make customized and era appropriate crewtalk and station or freight sounds in their locomotives but it probably wouldn't be much on a per unit cost.

What a terrific steamer to add to your collection, Zach. It's just beautiful! I would call it unique instead of 'goof ball', but that's just how it empresses me. The colouring is fantastic and the features are awesome. I'm particularly impressed with the whistle sounds. Thanks for reviewing the historical background and the great run. Hope you get some Erie coal hoppers soon. Seeing this was a pleasure!

I'd love to see MTH have matching period coal hoppers for this engine: period 1910-1915. Alvin Stuaffer has compiled a great RR book on the Erie in the sixties: "Erie Power." I have it and it has a reat deal to saym about this engine and the triplex. Thanks for sharing Zach. I'm ill and disabled and this is the only means I have to enjoy engines like this. Leave it to MTH to put out another great engine. Are you reading this Lionel????

Camelbacks are cool. As a fan of anthracite roads, it always puzzled me why o gauge only has 2 types of camelbacks available, the angus and the CNJ 4 6 0. There are so many more types out there!

Great engine, I have 48 curves, I think it could run them, I have a rail king version of the Erie tri plex, it runs good on my 4x8, on the 048, I don't even try it on the 036.

I love that locomotive it is so beautiful and unique. I would love a copy but I don't model Erie (but tempted after seeing this loco) but the price is too restrictive for me I am sad to say. Very gorgeous loco however.

Yeah, you are right about pre-order push backs. I am just like everyone else waiting for the DCS system 2 arrival. I hope that when it does arrive that it does work 100% of what we expect! That is an ugly engine but you have to like it. Great smoke unit! Great crew talk too.

Another great video Zack, but one question , does your new angus have an operating proto coupler on the front? Or is it a dummy coupler? Another person posted his video and was a little disappointed that his angus, # 2600, has a dummy coupler installed on it. Who is mistaken , or did MTH make a mistake? Tooling must be Korean. The box is marked made in Korea. I don’t know is Lionel or MTH set up with Korean tooling? Maybe they just buy it and put their name on the box. Lots of smoke and sound effects. Nothing I would ever buy with a need for 072 curves. Your layout can handle anything. So much smoke your gonna need a fan. LOL
