East of Eden kicks ass!!!!! Next from East of Eden check out their latest release/MV called Cross Roads!!!! East of Eden is Ayasa, violin, leader and producer; Yuki on guitar 🎸 also has her own band called D-Drive. On bass the one and only Wakazaemon!!! She is also the bassist for Marty Friedman and has been playing of late with Koiai. Drums 🥁 is Mizuki. She is also the founder of a Japanese all female band called Lonesome Blue. And last but definitely not least, we have Akane Minato on vocals. Prior to East of Eden she was the vocalist for Predia and was also in a band called Mochi to Cheese with Kanami and Akane of Band Maid.

This is a new supergroup, and an emphatic statement on the depth of talent in the Japanese metal scene. Most of the members have roles with other bands, so it’s not clear this is more than a project, but we’ll see. What we’ve seen so far is spectacular. The hook? This is a metal band built around a violinist. (The closest thing I know of is Unlucky Morpheus, where Jill often takes a lead role). Ayasa plays a custom five-string violin, which I’d say is metal. She is also the founder of the band. Personnel: Violin: Ayasa (currently with Morphonica) Guitar: Yuki (founder and co-lead in D-Drive) Bass: Wakazaemon (bassist with Marty Friedman and other projects) Drums: Mizuki (Lonesome Blue) Vocals: Akane Minato (x Predia, several other groups) Akane has a powerful, forward vocal timbre which is somewhat reminiscent of Fuki (Unlucky Morpheus)-interesting parallel since UM are also the big-name band that features a violin. They have posted several songs in very different styles so far, all showing off great songwriting, jedi-level mastery of their instruments, and Akane’s powerful vocals. They have also issued their first EP. Definitely a band to watch! Along with the other info being offered,, connections to LOVEBITES: violinist Ayasa and Asami, LOVEBITES vocalist, have been collaborating for years & continue to do so. Mao who has collaborated on music compositions with Miho, Midori & Asami co-wrote this song with East of Eden. The lyricist is nana hatori who frequently supported LOVEBITES in English translations & pronunciation (while Miho was still in the band). I very much like that so many of the Japanese music community are supportive of each other. Another "Super-Group" just getting started. 🐺 dreg👁

East of Eden is actually a supergroup formed by the violinist Ayasa. The vocalist Akane Minato was the lead vocalist in the adult idol group Predia for eleven years before they disbanded in 2022. Yuki, the guitarist, is also in a band that's been around for a long time called D-Drive. Wakazaemon is also the bass player in Marty Friedman's band, and Mizuki, the drummer, is also the drummer for a band called Lonesome Blue. Ayasa does her own solo work as well, and has been playing the violin since she was three years old if I'm remembering correctly from an interview. EOE is also absolutely amazing live. They released a blu-ray of their debut concert, in which they performed like a group that had already been together for a decade. Definitely worth picking up for anyone who's an EOE fan.

Yep, refreshingly different sums it up quite well. EoE is a band that has catapulted straight to the top of my radar, precisely because they have other elements to offer that mesh so perfectly with what I know. ❤🔥🤘🏻 _____________________ _"America invented rock. Great reaction. The guitarist, Yuki, is from D-Drive a progressive rock group. I’ve been following them since their beginning. In the first few videos of yours I’ve watched I’m impressed with how well you pick up things that are happening, more than a lot of others. It shows you have really good listening and watching skills. New subscriber here now! 👍

Thanks for checking EoE out! Although LOVEBITES is my favorite band, when EoE released this, I was totally blown away. With all the good stuff that was released in 2023, I rank this track among the best, if not THE best of the year. Easily the song played the most on my playlist. I've always been a sucker for a well played violin. This song is so well composed and arranged, and when they came out of the dueling solo section...oh my god...the song just soared even higher in emotion and intensity. I know you already like this alot, but when you re-listen, you'll absolutely get where I'm coming from. I'm 69, and grew up with the great bands of the 70's and 80's. Kansas is my all-time favorite band, and still shares the penthouse with LOVEBITES, my newer favorite. Kansas integrated violin in their compositions as well. They were very progressive, and knew how to go hard and rip out your heart at the same time. If you want to check out Kansas, I'd be happy to curate a little starter list for you...just let me know. Otherwise, another Great reaction, and looking forward to many more! 🎻🎸🎹🥁🎤🎼🎶🤟

Of course! Thank you for watching and I haven't heard to much of Kansas except their most popular songs, but I would love to dig more into their classics!

@@inalectexperiences Okay then...just a few from their first 4 albums. After the 5th, they changed the lineup, and the result wasn't quite the same. These will be audio only tracks, since the studio versions are superior to the quality of live videos in the 70's from an audio standpoint. They can reproduce these live really well, but I think best audio is required when listening to Kansas. Hopefully this won't be deleted because of the links. It's up to you if you choose to react, or just listen for fun. Sheesh...I can't believe they've been around for 50 years! Damn I'm gettin' old! 1. Icarus (Borne on Wings of Steel) - Along with Carry on Wayward Son, probably their most accessible (radio-friendly) track. "kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZbWmqJqoJKXg7c" 2. Mysteries & Mayhem / The Pinnacle - My personal favorite. "kzbin.info/www/bejne/epfWhIebpdesg7s" 3. Miracles Out of Nowhere - From the same album as Wayward Son (Leftoverture), a wonderful fan favorite. "kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKTIhZRtfbp8erc" 4. A Glimpse of Home - It's prog, so you never know what you'll get. It's as good as a box of chocolates though. "kzbin.info/www/bejne/m4XZZWVqg6eDjpI" 5. Magnum Opus - Another masterpiece from Leftoverture. "kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqCbqaSqqpugoJI" 6. Song for America - This is the one that hooked me for good. Must play on every Earth Day. "kzbin.info/www/bejne/baKQaoNmjpWYaNU" 7. Can I Tell You - This quickie was played for Don Kirshner, and it got them their record deal. The rest is history. "kzbin.info/www/bejne/l17KeniQbK53Y7c" Okay okay...maybe I got a bit carried away, but this is a part of the roots that got us to where we are today. Hope you enjoy! 🤟

Sometimes I wonder if I'm too into Japanese girl groups. Maybe it's time to listen to something else? But every time I return to the Japanese scene, because it has everything: classical, jazz, fusion, funk, pop, rock and metal. We are definitely living in an era of Japanese musical invasion, just like the British once did.
@thedocofrock1890Ай бұрын
@@fimasstet89 yeah me too - i am 71 so i saw the british invasion but i have to say as good as that was i think the talent in most of these new japanese bands is entirely at another level. of course back then shredding guitar solos really did not exist until the yardbirds , cream or led zep came along in the mid - to late 60's. jimmy page and eric clapton got it going big time
