No you are not, I hate to see people hate too, especially, since we haven't even gotten gameplay yet. The haters will always be louder, than the ones that are excited, don't let them ruin your anticipation. Did you enjoy the previous games? I know I did, and you know what? Valhalla was awesome. People need to realise, not everyone is the same, for some Valhalla was too big, for me, it gave me a more realistic feeling. You can't take whole England in 30 hours of gameplay, and people will always have more sidequests than you can do. I think if they mix that, with original ac stealth, this can be a great game.

And it seems people are angry because Yasuke wasn't even a real samurai IRL. But I feel people are forgetting few things, IT is history fiction and not accurate history u know, so basically its trying to portray that no one really knew how strong Yasuke was. Thats why its called history fiction. I mean if people want historical accuracy, remember that Bayek was 1000 years too late to be a medjay cuz the medjeys werent even there in last BC century. And if people are complaining about the fact that a foreign MC was chosen over a japenese person. But didn't we have an Italian MC in Turkey? An Irish in Atlantic? and a welsh in west indies?

I love Ubi Quebec because it feels like they truly have a drive to make Ubi games that are exploration based, breaking away from that infamous Ubi Formula ever since Far Cry 3. The fact that Odyssey had the exploration mode, the fact that they went out of their way to create Immortals, the articles on what immortals 2 would have been like had it not been canned, the reports on how synchonization points will work in Shadows, it all points to me how they truly want to make games that deliver on ecploration. I'm a casual AC fan, and i started playing from origins. I don't give much of a damn for its story, its roots, or even its hoods, but goddamn do i hope Shadows turns out good, not as an AC game necesarilly, but as a game within Quebec's vision. They emphasize exploration and wonder in their games, and even if they're not the best at it so far, i hope that they'll prove something remarkable with their vision one of these days.

This has been eye opening for me ngl. For years I've just mostly kind of ignored the angry white male gamer stereotype because I thought it was just that. A largely overblown stereotype. A small group on the Internet at best. I know plenty of chill white dudes irl so I thought it was the minority. They're arguing with Japanese people on the accuracy of Japanese culture and history in order to demand that a black man either be shown as nothing more than a slave in a fictional video game or not shown at all. It's wild.

Just some info here about Yasuke and Naoe that could be of interest for people here He was about 188cm and the average Japanese person was 166cm, so he was actually much taller than the others. So yes, he was massive and really scary in comparison Retainers were samurai too, they were servants of the daimyo who carried weapons and served as his bodyguards. And samurai in that period was also a kind of debt collector for the daimyo, they had the right to collect and attack if the money was not delivered and this could be the reason why Nobunaga's samurai were attacking Naoe's village As for Naoe Ninja clans where not a real thing, as we know. Being a ninja was more like a job that some trained people could do for the daimyo, even some samurai worked as shinobis for some times, so well probably see something in that regard about the story. As we have seen, she knows how to fight pretty well and as Ive said previously, ninja were samurai too, so theres a chance that Naoe is a onna musha, a group of samurais formed only by women at that time. That being said and now for a little theory: Its possible that Naoe was working for Nobunaga and something happened that made him send his samurai to collect a debt with her, leading to the destruction of her village, therefore to her being the one who made the death of Nobunaga happen as a form of vengeance. Then Yasuke tries to find her and avenge his master, leading for him and Naoe knowing each other and becaming friends in the future. Didn't saw this video yet but if something Ive said in this comment is already know and Im wrong please tell me Thats all, I hope that this makes a good discussion about the plot of this game because Im really excited for it

If they do the dynamic switching right you may be able to create a distraction with yasuke and then sneak unimpeded past guards as yasuke fights and draws attention his way. They may even be able to combo off each other when close in combat. This is way better than rwo ninjas that fight relatively the same way.

I just finished ac unity and dk dlc and i think that there should be remaster of it where you play as Élise from like 3/4 of main story and where Élise survives last mission and kill Germain but it isnt end of problems. Also it would be nice if it have more cooperation between Arno and Élise and they both survive, I know it would be messing in whole ac storyline but it would be nice as alternative reality and I would love that. Although there are some who are disappointed over color, I for one am not one of them. My disappointment is that there are so many other established characters in the lore who are a part of the Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins. Those who would be alive at this exact time period in the game. Characters like Hattori Hanzō who was a mission to retrieve the sword of eden from a Templar in Japan, who has some very crucial assassinations under his belt and eventually becomes a master assassin. Or there is another assassin during this time period named Yamauchi Taka (a former monk) who is the one who assassinates Oda Nobunaga among many others. My problem is, this is already established lore from the AC wiki. Why don’t we get play as these characters who are already well established and actually members of the Assassins guild in Japan.

Actually: historically speaking the samurai during this period did have a shield, but it was rather small like a hand shield. Or they would block with the shoulders of their armor. The shield used historically would have been more like the one used by Elden Ring’s samurai.

Well, Ill be honest. It feels like Yasuke has more things involved than Naoe which worries me as she is in my opinion a more interesting AC protagonist. I don't care about race ETC but Yasuke actually existed and I'm not confident he'll be compelling for AC because of that. I think he would work for a combat focused game For Honour atyle but for AC at least Naoe is more compelling to me. I worry that this will be like Syndicate here the characters feel one sided like how Jacob was markedly better than Evie and also more important, driving the story far more than Evie who's exclusion from the game would have barely changed anything (Like 1 and a half sequences).

1:20 difference is that even though jacob was more focused on combat he could do stealth similar to how evie was also effective in combat. I belive in shadows stealth is impossible with Yasuke and close combat cannot be done by naoi

From what I've seen and heard, it will be similar to Syndicate. Each character will be better at what they're designed for but still able to do the other. The differences will be much greater though, eg: Yasuke is slower and louder, whilst Naoe can't block/parry.

Going purely off of Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, I can't say that I'm feeling any different about this game compared to the previous. We've yet to see much of anything substantial, but I don't really get the impression that Ubi has learned much from the previous 3 games. Origins can be mostly forgiven for being the first (and tbh it was probably the best of the 3) but Odyssey and Valhalla took steps forward and steps backward, and ALL had the typical Ubisoft issues. I fully expect it to be a solid 7/10 experience with too much checkbox gameplay, somewhat janky controls, bland and forgettable story, and be riddled with microtransaction issues, which is a shame because 15 years ago an AC game set in an open world in Japan would have been an absolute slam dunk, but now all I see are people saying not to pre-order (justified) and that Yasuke is a problem. The only real reason I bought Odyssey and Valhalla were because I had some hope they had improved the games and they have really good trophy lists. But each time I didn't really feel like I played a really nice game. They're just soulless and whatever. I don't see anything from Shadows indicating anything different.

I think my gripe with Yasuke is that he is a historical character. the whole point of assassins is to be hidden and only known through ancestors or descendants. Like we could have met him and had a few missions with him like Leonardo Da Vinci but playing him has me skeptical and still not getting my hopes up.

The think is, we know little about him before he arrived in Japan and after the Honoji incident. Which allows Ubisoft to freely write the story that they see fit without making stuff up too much

After Nobunaga death, he joined the defense at Azuchi castle with Nobutada, which ultimately fail and lead to the death of Nobutada and the capture of Yasuke by Akechi. After that, we have little records about him but most likely he was return to the missionary and leave Japan shortly after

Well, from the trailers and information I've seen so far, it doesn't seem like Yasuke is part of the Hidden Ones anyway, not sure 100% on Naoe though. Since it looks like he is not actually part of the creed, I don't think that he needs to stay hidden or be a character that doesn't exist. That's just my opinion, though

Even the higher ups within Ubisoft themselves have been stopping their developers from having female protagonists for a really long time. If I recall correctly was it considered for syndicate but then was changed to a male (when it was called victory) then they went back and allowed you to play as both. on origins the idea of having a female protagonist was shut down but saved for the Aya missions. when odyssey they had already chosen that you could play as both and in Valhalla the developers had the clever idea of naming the character Eivor. a female name that 531 women in norway share. No men however. So now we finally get a female lead that seem to be her completely own thing. not just her brother but with the ability to turn invisible when she stands still.
