This is the new Aston Martin Vanquish 25 redesigned by Ian Callum. 20 years after creating the first Vanquish, Callum has revisited one of his most iconic cars to add the finishing touches that are only now possible thanks to the advancements of technology. This new Vanquish is limited to just 25 cars, it is the latest in a series of exclusive R-Reforged editions fully endorsed by Aston Martin Lagonda. With an increase of 60bhp, revised aero and styling, improved handling together with upgraded carbon ceramic brakes and a collaboration with Michelin tyres - the Vanquish has been reimagined for 2019!

Well Julian Thomson is now Ian Callum's successor and was part of the design team at Jaguar when the CX75 was created. And now there is talk of the f-type replacement being mid-engined, so there is the possibility that elements of that design may be incorporated in the new car. If not, yes Callum would be the next best option. I think though they will be focused on re-engineering existing cars rather than low volume builds.

I really do like the original design one better, i would left it untouched. The gearbox tough could use a refresh, manual would fit the car better IMO

Matt Farah has (had?) one of these with the touchtronic gearbox in LA. He sent it back to the factory to have a manual gearbox conversion. I dread to think how much that would have cost but if he keeps it for his retirement then it'll probably be worth it tbf...

Every gorgeous upgrade brings this car into the 21st century. The only thing I prefer from the old car are the instrument dials. At 24:57 check out the deconstructed tartan mesh behind the fender strake. The details are just awesome.

Omg James that Aston Martin is gorgeous..i have always loved the Vanquish. To me it was that timeless GT car. It always had such a presence and at first glance you knew it was an Aston Martin. I love all the suttle yet impactful changes that were made. The rear diffuser..epic..and i love the detail of the mufflers ( made you look ). I love it. Now the only thing i would do on the interior is add more carbon fiber, like on the door sills and smoke the taillights. Now i would have loved to hear how she sounds and how she drives, maybe next time. As always great content brother..Be safe.

You’re right. Aston Martin works will put a proper manual shift in for you. I was disappointed not to see that in this remake!!

According to the articles I read on this, you can 1) keep the original transmission, 2) change it to a proper manual, or 3) change it to a 6 speed automatic.

Didn't watch the whole video but did he address the transmission? The biggest let down of the original Vanquish is the transmission. If someone would come up with a good dual clutch replacement or a way to swap in the current 8-speed ZF, I'd buy an original in a heartbeat.

Beautiful car. I always wanted to buy a Vanquish and they were very cheap here in Germany. Around 40-50k. Now I could afford it. But unfortunately they cost now twice as much. Nice Investment though.

Fabulous posting - thanks - but the 2005 to 2007 Vanquish S was made far, far too low for driving in cities with savage speed humps, so that it requires only a few hits to damage the front bottom lip really badly - if not tear it off the car completely. I know, I have done it! By lowering this car further, the felony is compounded. The dog that does not bark in the night in this excellent video is the silence about the gearbox, which even in 2007 cars had considerable room for improvement. Inserting a wholly automatic 6 speed ZF, alternatively offering a manual box would exorcise this issue completely.

Maybe a super small number, just be on the safe side? Kind of like a small test run, to see if people actually like what he does and then go for a larger number, say...100-125, or a Singer style concept, of someone just bringing a car to them and having it "Callum'd". I think for the first go around, having 25 for-sure sales set in stone, as opposed to waiting for 25 people to each decide they want to bring their car to Callum, kind of like Singer does, is the safer option, given this is Callum's first go on his own.
