This is my favorite shoe for 2024. Especially once you get some miles in it and get used to the geometry. I find myself dreading 440 yard intervals, I put this shoe on. Is it the fastest? No. But it protects my feet for the workout tomorrow. Long runs without a pace goal, easy runs, speed work, it does it all. This is what the Hoka Clifton is supposed to be.

I’m 100% with you on this one Emily! I absolutely loved the SC V2 and had two pairs. I loved the softness, but at the same time, the bounce from the Fuelcell foam and the responsiveness in the plate. I tried on the V3 and just wished that they hadn’t messed with it. Definitely felt firmer in the mid foot. I feel the V2 was a lot more dynamic…you could do a slow day in them…but they would dare you to go faster. These one feel like they were built for speed but don’t quite give you that excitement. Roll on the V4…!

Good review 👍 as always. But here in Europe this shoe costs around 260 usd, which is a no go for me. Sadly a commun problem with New Balance shoes.

I love the NB SC trainer v2 I just got a marathon PR 2 months ago in those I’ve tried the NB SC elite v3 and I didn’t love it as much as trainer v2 my last mile of my marathon was my fastest mile and I felt like I could have run another 2 miles at that pace 🥰

The New Balance SC Trainer V3 is my favorite shoe in my LARGE shoe rotation. It's not even close. If you're a heavier long distance runner or power walker, buy the shoe. You can thank me later.

I had been patiently waiting for this review before I went and spent my money on it, I thought v2 was almost to firm so if you say this is to firm then I am not wasting money on it now I have more v5, 1080 v13, Super Comp Elite v4 so I guess Ill go spend the money on the new 1080 v14 maybe it's not to firm! lol, first time Sc trainer buyer, and I just passed 230 miles on v3, and ordered a second pair. The shoe continues to pop and please me on long runs. Also the foam holds up and is still going, I just have a hard to find size (12.5 Wide) so I hopped on a pair when I found them.

I feel like the SC Trainer is a shoe that NB doesnt know what they want to do with. Originally it was super tall, very squishy, etc. Then v2 was still soft but firmer than the 1 and much shorter (the reasoning I got is so that people could race in it from a NB rep which doesnt make sense but whatever), now its even firmer and not that do it all shoe unless you like firm, which really isn't very NB because theyre known for cushioning

I have 60 miles on the SCT V3. It still feels a bit firm but it is a good shoe. I bought it to replace the Brooks Hyperion Max 2 (328 miles). For me the Hyperion Max 2 is a better shoe. I probably should have just bought another pair of the Hyperion Max 2. But, you have to try different shoes.

This shoe has been great for me. I've loved it. I prefer it over the Rebel v4, and the 1080v14. But, still like the 1080. The SCT v3, though is really a pleasure to run in.

I love the ride and the cushion, but i dont know why the left shoe hurt me with the plate (its the only shoe with that problem and i have 5 more shoes with plate) i change the insole and the problem more bearable

It's £230 in the UK. Super overpriced. Elite V4 is £260. Not sure what they are on at NB but they should definitely stop taking it. Their pricing strategy is ridiculous here in the UK. I bought a pair of Balos a week ago with a discount code for £165 and i'm loving this shoe.

I loved the v2 but I strongly disliked this new model. I found it flimsy and unstable. I found the Asics magic speed 4 as a way better model for the category than the SC trainer v3
