Don’t feel bad. Every farmer and dealer has to read the PM manual when they have a new or different peace of equipment. Thank you for your time and videos Sargent. Have a safe and blessed day.Army medic veteran. I did basic at D 5-3 July 79.

Your next baler should be a Massey Ferguson 1745d. They are about 30k. We really like ours do about 150 acres a year with it. Just do not run hay rake parts through it plus you don’t have to turn the pto off to dump a bale

This one you don't turn the PTO off for anything either. I imagine most machines don't like metal pieces going through them 😂 Massey and Hesston are very similar machines as Agco owns both

I have a HESSTON 5530 baler, though I have not used it yet. I raise sheep, and don't like any plastic twine or netting, since it breaks down somewhat into micro-plastics, and the sheep end up eating the micro-plastics, and even some of the bigger pieces of plastic, and some toxins end up in the meat. I don't know if my baler will run using natural twine, but I hope so.

I've never had an issue with sheep eating the plastic twine at all. Been raising em for 7 years so I would personally say that is far from a concern of mine. I'm sure the 5530 would run any kind of twine you use honestly. Twine is simple and rarely has issues

@@FreedomFarmsMo Yeah, I've seen the sheep eat it a few times, or at least chew on it. I've also have chunks of netting inside bales of hay I've purchased.

@FLPhotoCatcher interesting. That's a risk you take when buying hay instead of making your own I suppose.

We blow ours off really good every year and wash it every other year

I like that Idea too

So it string & net wrap both on the bail
@FreedomFarmsMo2 ай бұрын
No you either use string tie or net wrap. It gives you the ability to do whichever you want or your customer wants.
