3:06 It’s not that the gel coat didn’t cure properly Champion know how to do gel coat 😂, it’s because your boats old and it’s probably been pounded on and being used as a boat should be! This is a great boat for your first real bass boat!

Exactly. Fiber glass flexs overtime and weakens it. They call it “ spider webbing “

Those small compartment behind the seats are coolers , they keep ice very well . I have a 97 181sc with a 150 Mariner E.F. I . magnum . Runs in the low 60's . Rides good in rough water . You have to watch when you come off pad , washes back deck off if you back off throttle too quick .

Had a 90 Champ 184, Merc 150 SCR, Great boat, not the fastest but a rough water beast! If I had the money Id get the Bass Cat Hybred.

How is the transom on yours? It seems like the transom cracks a bit on the corners

I did not. I have put them in before though. its very easy as long as you have a sawzall and or a circular saw

You’ve gotten it up to 65 with a 150? I find that hard to believe. I got a 1995 champion 181SC with a 2001 mercury EFI 175. Got it up to 63 with it white capping the other day.. my buddy has a 18ft triton with a mercury optimax 150 and only does high 50s

i have a 186 with a 175 and we get it up to 65 with a full tank of gas, full live wells and 3 ppl

Andrew Harris I have this same exact boat with a 175 not a 150 and by myself I can get it up around 68 on a good calm day. Running a 23p 3 blade tempest. Running a 150 to me would do well to get 60 if your running light weight

Uses lots of gas cause that boat is very one takes a lot to push it. An older motors burn little more.

hey man I just bought a 1998 champion I love it man have one problem, carpet, seats , and also I wanna add a hot foot, check my channel out in a few days ill upload a video of my boat I had it at 55 earlier but it could use some love
