The hoses attached to the connectors you change pretty much snapped in my car and this was the only helpful thing I was able to find on the internet for naming the hoses thank you so much!

Thank you. Just found that mine was broken while trying to clear clogs (wishful thinking, maybe) in my return hose through all the elbows and hoses. I was certain I would have to disassemble this “free” project’s interior to replace the whole heater core until I stumbled on your video. You saved me a lifetime of frustration. Now I’m probably only going to have to change the water pump, thermostat, and timing chain to start. It’s been sitting for 5 years, and before that, it was “lovingly” maintained by the worst mechanics in Tijuana for years. Why do I do this to myself for a worthless 1999 beetle?
@williamjones34803 жыл бұрын
With much cursing, I got it replaced. Only one. I have another in case it fails. It would be smart to change both, but that was an ordeal. Getting them back on is difficult.

I’m really struggling to remove one of these, Ive got the metal clip out but the connector will not move at all. Is it ok to twist them to break the seal? Also I bought some ratcheting spring clip pliers which makes light work of the hose clips
@newbeetlepr4 жыл бұрын
You should pry to remove it. I don't think you can twist it due to the shape of the hose connector.

I had the same issue. The connector would not come off after taking of the clip. What I did was take my spray bottle filled it with warm water and liquid dish soap. I started spraying the connector, letting that warm soapy water penetrate. After a few minutes. I would gently pull back and forward. Spray again. Gently pull back and forward. Spray again. After about 8 minutes it came off. The key is to be patient and let the soapy water work in there.

Gracias!
@newbeetlepr3 жыл бұрын

I have leak on the connector to upper radiator, I purchased a new connector ( febi) and it’s the right one but I have problem to fit it it won’t in and click I mean it’s hard , I don’t want to break something on the push, do I need to to lubricate or something to make it easy and click? Thanks
@ArazBG3 жыл бұрын
Same here! I didn’t hear anything clicking and it makes me nervios that it might be still loose
@HellaMeiste3 жыл бұрын
@@ArazBG 3 days ago i realized that this febi was “ made in China “. I purchased another brand VAICO made in Germany and well fine easy to fit I did only no more than 60s to fix the leak ! Made in China is always suck diff on diameter both by purpose
@ArazBG3 жыл бұрын
@@HellaMeiste the thing with mine is that I didn’t replace it, the original one was loose, it didn’t broke or anything, and when I put it back, it didn’t click anything but it was impossible to push more, that’s why I’m not sure if I put it correctly
@HellaMeiste3 жыл бұрын
@@ArazBG I believe that basically something liked this part is one time use until it breaks, whenever something happens or loosen it should be replaced with a new one, simple because it’s plastic thing maybe it won’t seal right after all especially on the cooling systems , get a new connector if it is the right one OE/OEM with just a little hard push it will fit in and click I guess I don’t like to repair anything and bring my car to dealer or stealer, usually they will break another without customer know it

Nah pulling that connector from the heater core made it look easy. Mine is a 2005 jetta and the connector is stuck so lich that I feel they ilused crazy glue when they put that on. I don't wanna use too much force because I don't wanna break the core side of the connector

Viewers be warned. This guy is replacing with URO parts, possibly the lowest quality parts available for this vehicle, doesn't seat the hose completely on the new connector, and then reuses the spring clamps which is not advised.
