I feel that in some situations teams hire you and you look at what the AI manager was doing and all you can think is, "why?" The team seems to be massively mis-used and it does look like there is enough to avoid regulation with a logical tactic and improvement in attitude for the team.

I've used Adam Idah in previous FMs like A LOT ! Always loved him exactly because he has no weaknesses. No real strong points either, but that's a Premiership level squad player right there ! At one point, he was my Juventus super-sub, with 14 appearances off the bench and 12 goals in FM19! Funny thou, the 4 games he started for me that season, he averaged 6.2 :( He should be setting the Championship a blaze ! Get him a good SS behind him and watch them destroy the opposition defenses !

Thats the same issue I had when I went from Dulwich Hamlet to Rotherham who were bottom of the championship, 40k over the wage budget, players were all 28+ with 70% out of contract end of the season so no-one was bidding for them and I couldn't shift them. Needless to say we ended up going down allowing me to get the budget down some.

I think u should bring in a knew rule for next season. When u take a knew job u cant jump past 2 or 3 leagues. I love it all the same but its something to think about maybe. I do like a long build up b4 jumping to the top leagues. Stay safe 👊

Could SI at least be historically accurate? Preston have never won nor ever been in the Premier League. They were in Division 1, and won it. As I’m sure everyone knows, the PL was a league made to breakaway from the Football League in 1992. Plus, the old division one had 22 teams in it. The PL ofc has 20.
