I have a 4th gen monochrome iPod classic with quite the story. So first I ordered a battery for it and installed that battery, then it turned out the 30 pin connector was barely attached, yet I managed to solder it back on! The iPod could no longer synch but I could at least charge it, which was fine since the old drive was still functional and had music on it. After a few days the hard drive died and I set the iPod aside. 3 months later I got the idea of taking the hard drive out of the iPod and slamming it against my table with moderate force, when I put the hard drive back in, to my surprise the iPod booted right up! About 3 hours later the drive died again. The next day I tried to “fix” the iPod for a third time by once again slamming the drive against the table. The iPod booted again and has been working ever since.

@@EliteObsolete On every video I watch the upgrade will be a micro SD card into an adapter into the sd card slot. I would like to use a Sandisk Sd card directly into the sd card slot. Will I be the first known being to do this? Additionally would it matter if I got the 120MB/s or the 170MB/s card. My hypothesis is that it will matter for transferring the songs initially but after that it would be unnoticeable in the device.

I am so inCREDIBLY frustrated. I broke 2 iPod motherboards so far (A 5th gen I was trying to restore, and a 7th gen I was using) trying that latch thing with the brown ribbon connector for the battery and was on my way to break the third new one yesterday trying to save my iPod 7th Gen 160GB . So much disaster could have been averted. Hmm. Now I need to order a new battery for the 7th Gen. 650mAH or 850mAH?

Your videos are great. I'm using them to repair my iPod. I have a 80 GB iPod video and when I replaced the LCD, I had a mishap with my battery cable. The contact had slipped out of the socket and touched the hard disk, causing a small spark. I think it rendered the HDD useless and I possibly tore the ribbon cable as well. So I just ordered a iflash solo board and tarkan ribbon cable from your store. Hopefully I don't mess it up 😅

I love the edits, btw. I would have laughed if you managed to accidentally send the clip flying doing the battery up the "proper" way.

@Garv Chaudhary yes actually. I installed a tarkan iFlash solo, installed a new battery and new face plate. Still using it since I've restored it

I would be using a Black 5th gen Black with 128GB SD but iTunes refuses to format it, it just won’t pop up in a timely manner. And when I do format it and install the OS, it still won’t work. Using an official iFlash btw

Original SD spec went to 4gb. There are non- HC 4GB SD cards for sale online. Usually slightly overpriced. Why you would want ONLY 4gb I do not know

Is it ok to use iFlash CF board with the red CF adapter and SD/micro SD combo? I plan to use it for my 5.5 80Gb iPod. I have that cheap board from China and it is working. But somehow either that board or my memory card is making my files disappear as soon as the card is filled up with files.
