Ey mate, is there any offensive incentives to getting more guard? Genuinely curious. I've mained SnS since tri, and I don't even know the button to guard with sns in rise. Attack, bonk and affinity all the way (pluss 2 evade extend).

​@@theblackneon5396 getting more guard means you lessen the stamina use for a block and lessen the knockback one of the sns' weaknesses is how blocking locks you into the knockback animation (but subsequent hits will still be blocked during this as long as there is stamina) and guard mitigates this issue It also makes it's guard parry (guard + circle) more usable as the parry doesn't work if the attack is strong enough to knock back the hunter Guard Parry is a move that when it connects, does a shield bash at the start and DIRECTLY leads into perfect rush, the strongest sns combo.

honestly thats a good point about healing. I personally use berserk and blood rite so I never really need to heal, but I can see for other weapons that the lack of healing is a relevant problem.

Personally, I’d keep using the Lucent Narga S&S and swap out Burst for Grinder S. I finally figured out the trick to utilizing it within a useable way, which is to run it with the most minimal, to *no* sharpness management on your build, depending on if you have Grinder S 2 or 3, and how many hits of purple you have. I’m not sure whether that comes as a shock or not. But, it helps when we can achieve the sweet spot with just the level 4 deco, and it’s easier than ever to activate now, thanks to Heaven-sent

Silver Rathalos Platinum Dawn SNS is a hidden gem. If you awaken full affinity in the weapon you get 50%; combined that with Crit Eye LV7 and you get 90% affinity. Also Handicraft LV5 Give you a decent amount of Purple.

Been using Bloodlust on SnS and WOW is it a great combo! Got a wait till fighting Risen Shagaru (PS5 version anyway) to get this build going. SnS just becomes extremely powerful once you really spend time w ith it. Then again, that's with all weapons. But the item using always will FOREVER make SnS the better of the thirteen. Till then, beating the everloving shit out of every quest to get to the correct MR ready!

As a SnS main I can confirm that Frenzy Bloodlust is awesome however it’s hard for me to get rid of Bloodlust without getting destroyed by the monsters so I will wait a bit to see if or not it becomes a Qurios Crafting later on! Besides that SnS is stronger than people think as it has everything other weapons have! ( only thing I want now is Oils as I played through MHGU and saw how awesome they are! But we can’t be to godly otherwise everyone else would get jealous right?)

Sns has always been a balanced weapon solution, altough with low range. In Rise I've got more airtime than modt insect glaives. Can't wait for next game when we can start firing ammunition from the shield as well.

This could work with insect glaive since the starter kinsect heals you with extracts, and Sunbreak switch skills are all about picking up extracts.

One could have an easier time sustaining frenzied bloodlust if they remove the third rank (or simply keep only 1) of bloodlust itself. This will make bloodlust last 60 seconds VS the 90 second duration of frenzied bloodlust 3 lasting 90 seconds, allowing you to refresh frenzied bloodlust possibly before it expires.

I would like to see something for Hunting Horn and Charge Blade please! Those are my and my buddy's main weapons, so we would like to know if there's something new in the power/comfort department. Especially for CB. TU4 build hits hard but can be a bit annoying to use at times; too many spaces used in resistances and stuff -meanwhile, I've been wanting to replace those in my HH builds buuuut I don't even know what to put in there (the struggle of maining the comfiest, easiest weapon to build around in the game 😂)

Am I missing something with Metsu Shoryugeki being the highest damage move SnS has? It seems like Perfect Rush is higher damage and Frostcraft Perfect Rush with the Metsu Shoryugekis you would get in that play style might be higher damage? Forgive my ignorance if I'm way off-I'm a great sword main and have basically copied my GS build and thought of it as a "free" SnS build that gets you what you'd want in SnS as well, but maybe that's not actually optimal?

Why are you adding the 1.39 sharpness modifier if you don’t have any sharpness managements? That purple won’t last for more than a minute if you playing efficient and hitting the monster. If anything add 1.32 instead since you will drop to white quick.

I know some have expressed dissatisfaction that SunRise had its run without featuring any of the mainline contenders for First-Class monster (Fatalis, Alatreon, Dire Miralis, Safi'jiiva), but to be honest I think the storyline as presented works fine without them. Amatsu gets its own shot at the finale spotlight, revamped and providing a thematic compare-and-contrast to the Serpents, without invoking repetition of what Iceborne established. Alatreon and Fatalis have had their major revamp, and Safi's influence was better set having established Xeno'jiiva's impact beforehand (as well as any adjustments to make on its siege mechanics). Dire Miralis is the odd one out at this time, so better for 6th Gen to be the time to focus on it, providing it the fidelity to match its peers and cement its reputation.

Couldn't you try and get wind mantle 3 to increase how quickly you get your wirebugs back? I'm not sure if it would be quick enough, but it's something I'll definitely have to try!

After the first point in Wind Mantle, the increased wirebug recovery is miniscule (~.8 seconds on rank 1, then ~.3 on 2 and 3). It would be hard to fit with little payoff.

I can't fight Special Investigation without evade extender at mininum level 2. Damn monsters keep running here and there and spit AoE nonsense everywhere. It also makes it faster to reach monster's butt together with Shield Bash, I run sneak attack 3.
