I just got Bose qc ultra yesterday, I am impressed with everything. My ears are very weirdly shaped meaning earbuds with silicone tips like Apple AirPods Pro, Sony xm5 and literally any earbuds with silicone tips don’t stay in and fall down after couple seconds. Bose quiet comfort 1st gen were the only earbuds that I used for past 4 years other than Shokz openruns. But man I am so glad Bose ultra are made fore some one like me , I bought it directly for Bose website so I can return it if they don’t stay in or were uncomfortable. But now I am 100% keeping it also went to sleep wearing em and it wasn’t annoying. Only thing that I think is missing better waterproofing other than that these are great .

@@kbeck78 I have acquired these quiet comfort series of earbuds as Christmas gifts, birthday, etc and have had all the main model releases. In my opinion, the QC2 ultra has the best noise cancellation, I do like the “immersion “ mode, but the QC2 Ultra require frequent readjustment for me, with none of the ear top sizes fitting perfectly. Plus, the tips do break. The best sounding, imo, were the original quiet comfort earbuds. They may not be the most refined, but they definitely have a good powerful sound. I have these new ones coming, from the reviews I am expecting Bose to continue improving the sound quality, battery life and noise reduction; so even though these are cheaper, I think they are a great choice! I’m looking forward to hearing them. Oh, the reason I replied…ALL Bose earbuds I have used for any length of time, eventually have connection issues. I hope these new ones are better.

As a UX/UI designer, I can probably explain why they made seperate app for quiet comfort. In terms of improving the regular bose app which designers usually do, there probably was a lot of content such as pages, sliders, buttons just for one earbud. I'm guess like 15 different pages with that do specific things specifically for the quiet comfort model. Imagine making an app and designing 15 pages for every single bose headphone, earbud etc including past models. That would easily be over 100 pages. Redesigning the app and making updates would be nerve wrecking. So it would make be easier to just design a specific app for the specific earbuds. Honestly the that user would not be using bose app for every single bose headphone/earbud. They'd be only using for the latest on they have so make sense to have a specific app for such with lest clutter and option that you don't need. It wouldn't make sense to redesign everything (100+ pages) if you only need 10-15 new own. In terms of what the stakeholders want, its more optimal for time and budget. Users who don't have a previous bose earbud device wont be using the bose app with everything in it especially if its their first bise product they're buying; they will use the quietcomfort app for specifically what they need.

So I got these as well and in regards to the eartips being loose is a huge flaw because if you accidentally rotate them it will not align properly on the buds and this WILL negatively impact ANC as they will not seal into ears completely. I think Bose intentionally made them loose so it will fit into most people's ears more comfortably.

6:24 - haven't been able to compare side-by-side but one thing I remember from the Ultras is that there was a lot of annoying white noise with ANC ON and I can't here it on the QC2 so that's a plus.

Great presentation! New Bose buds sound much better the the Ultras. I'm getting delivery of the new Bose today and had the Ultras since January till last week. I'm looking forward to the comparison. I'm a sound guy and tried many high end buds but the Ultras were amazing. If these new Bose buds don't cut it re sound frequency I will try the new Bowers & Wilkins Pi8.

I tried them both. I agree with you take on how they sound and about the noise cancelling. The battery life on the buds is definitely better. When I tried to sleep with them on they would pop an crack in my ear. Having said that I returned them both...I just prefer sound quality more than noise cancelling.

@deyh5664 I find myself using the Sennheiser momentum true wireless 4s more than any others. They seem to do everything well for me even though they are not the best in any category except fit. Sound is very good, the noise canceling is very good, and the battery life is pretty good. You might want to look at the beoplay ex. They are tied for best sound along with the Denon perl pro. I just don't like the size and fit as much as the Sennheisers

Great video man I really needed this because I'm in this boat. I got the Ultra's about a month ago for $250 and they worked great, no connection issues, loved the fit, etc. My issue is NOW Bose drops these which look better in almost every way for cheaper. I do use android so I may have issues with connection being spotty and I've heard the new ones have an issue disconnecting properly because the eartip covers a sensor so it has trouble recognizes thats its been removed from the ear sometimes. One of my biggest concerns is fit and can I really use them jogging which shouldnt be an issue I hope. I have to get into a tech store to check them out. That voice prompt feature is great though I wish they'd add that feature to the ultras somehow it beats tapping the buds and messing with the fit.

How have you experienced Bose quietcomfort 2024s ANC on a train vs the Ultras? I just got QC 2024 and I feel like it's ANC enhances low frequencies (especially the rumble sound that a train can make). It cuts out the higher frequencies well but the enhancing of the lower ones almost makes me not want to use the ANC at all and I have a nicer ride without it.

The quiet comfort sound better, the case hinge looks less flimsy and there is an ANC off. My qc2 case broke after 1-1\2 years and the same might happen to the ultra. I like turning and off in windy situations. Great video!

I need to update, unfortunately I sent it back after one week of usage Unfortunately, the product is disastrous in terms of reliability. I liked the product when it worked… top anc ( still weaker than the ultra as I felt it ), good sound, acceptable calls, multipoint, comfort.. ( still the ultra is an inch better ) Problems I had using with my iphone 14 1 - randomly it doesn't recognize that you take it out of the case, - it doesn't connect 2 - random crackling noises - often in multipoint mode 3 - the right earbuds touch control does not react - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't 4 - voice control often doesn't hear what I say - it does two instructions, then nothing 5 - the earbud still connects to the phone while it is back in the case… this is unacceptable for the peice and generally

You are spot on about poor quality of BT connection on Bose products. I have a Bose QC Ultra and Bose NC 700. Both lag in connectivity even if I am connecting Ultras to my iPhone and S23 Ultra or if I am trying to connect Bose NC700 to my laptop! Always a mediocre experience. Bose have to up their game in this area.

Like fact you mentioned sometimes one earbud can not connect... Both of my Ultra earbuds were connected & playing music... I don't remember if I paused the music or just stop playing. But then when I went to play something again, one of the buds just was not responding and I tried taking it out oft my ear, putting it back in my ear, putting it in the case, closing & opening case... Nothing worked.... Eventually I did a search and I just found a way to get it to work again. I was pretty upset thinking if it died. I just learned how you document this buggy I think I turned Bluetooth off and on and re-entered the boss app and it started working again.

Bose QC Ultra absolutely beat the shit out of the Sony WF1000X4/5 and the Bowers and Wilkins Pi8 and yes, I've had all three. Why? 1) The bass is substantially deeper and smoother and more powerful than even the WF1000XM4! 2) There is absolutely ZERO Distortion 3) The build quality design is far superior than both 4) Sound Cancelling is absolutely superior as well 5) You will forget you even have them in 6) Sound Signature is just beautifully done. Think Bose Soundlink Mini 2. Get these without Hesitation.

I Love My Ultra Headphones; however, I use ultra earbuds mostly because they're more portable, inconspicuous ( not noticeable ) & better suited for me when walking, hiking, climbing, gym or any environment where body, head & ear temperature gets warm or hot & there's perspiration... 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥 Headphones just put on & your set... Earbuds have to ensure they fit, properly, snugly & secure to seal ear canal... My best advice would be to try them... There's already some very deep discounts can get with great return policies... SAFETY ISSUE: Bose QC earbuds gen 2 has a safety issue with its notification sounds, including voice prompts. They are by default at an EXTREMELY HIGH volume level and they are UNADJUSTABLE and can NOT BE DISABLED.

I had the old QCs, got the ultra. The ultra were miserable to remove from the case. Terrible design. I never got the chance to side by side, but i going the ultra had some issues with nose cancelling i never experienced with the old ones.

The Bose QC Ultra is overall a better buy and the NC is definitely better. The QC Ultra case is much more comfortable to carry. If you have the option and willing to spend more $, get the QC Ultra.

Got the new QC buds 2024 model, having sound distortion issues and the noise cancellation are weird, turn on the noise cancellation in but still able to hear wind noise and background noise, very disappointed, im going to return it and get apple airpods instead

As always with Bose, 1 step forward, 3 steps backward 😮‍💨, a huge, bulky and low-end case, 7 out of 10 testers complain of having connection problems, no more swiping to manage volume🎚️ , a very very average phone call quality (slightly better than previous Bose earbuds) ... , at some point, you have to say no 🚱 and stop the masacre, the charges, without any real questioning (not this semblance of reset), it's dead for Bose on the Bluetooth earbud market. Airpods Pro 2 are regularly found at $180, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro are already at $150-$160, not to mention earbuds like Earfun Air Pro 4 / Air 2 NC and Soundcore Liberty 4 NC which currently cost $60-$80, and which if the Bose are rated 9,5/10 in ANC, are easily at 7.5-8/10 for 1/3 of the price of the Bose 🤷🏽‍♂️
