Doing a brilliant job there Kev as it’s what my mate Kenny use to do when he was a mechanic at Stagecoach Fife & a brilliant one to at that. He’s since retired around 6 months ago. We always worked as a great team the pair of us when I was there. Great to see you getting jobs done to ur ST. Keep up the good work Pal & I’m already looking forward to ur next vlog Pal. 👍

Legend has it that Kevs torque wrench was used to fit the tracks to tanks in WW2 😂 Certainly looks like it's seen some action. Halfords professional torque wrenches are very nice, have have mine for a few years now.

Ha that Torque wrench has been very faithful but I'm also a bug fan of Halfords Professional range so I think it's nearing retirement for the old wrench 😂

Pagid are owned by TMD friction who also own Textar and Mintex so a really decent make, if you’re ever after upgraded pads mintex racing do a great range of performance pads and they’re usually not very expensive (many people say they’re far superior to anything EBC has to offer). In regards to the coating you don’t have to clean it, it’s ready to fit out the box. Aside from looking a million times better they’re quite good for performance as the coating prevents the vents from corroding and clogging with rust thus keeping the brakes cool. I’d keep copperslip far away from brakes, especially slider pins on those ATE style callipers, makes a right mess of the pins and the rubber guide boots in my experience 👍

Good job pal. Just a quick heads up. With the rear pads theres a little nipple on the back of the pads which should sit in one of the slots on the piston face. I had a problem where the brake pads would be pushed against the disc because the nipple wasn't seated in the piston. Worth checking if it's lined up properly. 👍🏻

Hi Kev, you're not on your own with the handbrake been left on. I worked in a very well known garage, car was up on the ramp my colleagues could see me struggling with the rear brakes. One colleague shouted over " handbrake" , I could feel my face getting redder and redder the whole garage was laughing. Never did that again. I think you need to get a new torque wrench. Great video 👍

You forgot the KwikFit patented BrakePadPreservation® technique by applying a liberal coating of WD-40 and vaseline on the friction material of the brake pad. It makes them last 2x longer and reduces excess heat caused by friction 🤦 **NOTE TO ANYONE READING** **DO NOT DO THIS. ITS A JOKE!!!** 😂😂😂

@justinfufun54833 жыл бұрын
Its gid like gin. Grooved and drilled disks are no improvement. You should know from CPC that brakes work by converting kinetic energy into heat by friction so putting holes in them just reduces the available surface area. Dissipating tbst heat is good or creating even more heat by stronger calipers but removing dust area us for posers.
