Thanks for the review :) I plan on making a really tiny version of the map deducting even the amount of provinces in the original mod, after fleshing out the rest of the map :) EDIT: Just completed making an original balanced campaign with no added provinces and removed two provinces will upload soon

Excessive number of cities killed the mod for me, Stainless Steel added a lot more cities but remade the map and stretched it out so those cities didn't feel so densely populated (In Medieval 2 but similar concept) I really would like a mod in this setting but with more of a Vanilla game play approach

Look for the Vanilla Enhanced mod for Alexander. Melkor did a vid years ago, still a criminally underrated mod.

I tried to tell the Modder that his version was unfaithful to the OG Bronze age mod. I tried to tell him that the balancing was all messed up. He didn't want to hear it. Now bronze age mod sucks. A shame because I would have hoped that someone would expand apon bronze in a productive way. I feel you. I really don't want to play so many sieges.

So what I got from this video, is that there are waaay to few cities, which sucks because the mod is 100% complete and they’re never going to work on it again and there will be very well-polished scripted events and flavor for every faction. Thank you Melkor!

For the grand finale, I am wanting to do a massive Rome Total War IceBerg video, 1 hour long, go through every secret, every easter egg, every bit of cut-content - a final tribute to the game.

"4 cities" What a totally realistic view of Bronze Age Greece 4 cities on the whole Peloponnese
@MelkorGGКүн бұрын
Exactly my point - its a game, not a realistic view The idea is, 1 faction in that region should not start with that many crammed in cities - as nothing is visible and armies don't move. + It is just a spam of sieges, and repeatedly clicking buttons. All these cities become copy and pasted with their buildings. Less cities allows for more specialisation.
@Pemmont107Күн бұрын
To be fair. that's how Total War's always been. I've always assumed the cities we play with are the major ones - like regional capitals! The various problems and benefits of smaller cities in a region are included in the stats of bigger ones. And someone who conquers the regional capital is assumed to have brought the minor cities to heel as well. Some might rebel, and that's represented in the provinces' overall public order.

@@MelkorGG I actually like all the cities being there
@rorschach1985ify17 сағат бұрын
@@MelkorGG Sorry but while I think the Peloponnese is way too overcrowded for how small it is, going for just 4 would be going the opposite direction in terms of extremes. The Peloponnese was an important center of the Mycenaean Empire and it should be more densely shown for how densely populated it was. 20 on a smaller map like that is overkill, but having just 8-10 would be fine because it would not be that big as you can take over settlements quickly with how fast paced conquering territories is in Rome 1, and it would allow the Greek Factions there to still be something of a challenge to take over so you don't just wipe out a powerful faction in this time period without much issue.
@rorschach1985ify17 сағат бұрын
@@Pemmont107 Nah that's cope and you know it. Public order is almost hardly an issue if you have enough units and you're not showcasing how hard it is to take over a region with just one settlement no matter how much you try to be over imaginative. It was a limitation we had to deal with back in the day when devs had little time to get a game out and when modders were held back by engine limits. Now we don't have that limit so there is no reason to be stuck with so few cities when we can make taking over regions feel more worthwhile rather then so easy and quick it becomes mindless and underwhelming. It's not like we need to have dozens of settlements in every region, just enough that taking over a place like Greece actually feels like a worthwhile and rewarding undertaking.
