@donniebaker59842 жыл бұрын
Semaj upon your first visual of this genius says the twin 75°. Did the thoughts of a Ducati panigale enter your mind ... Imagine this brand new BSA prototype sitting in a EBR frame... As if you've ever watched the age-old road test between the Dakota panigale and the EBR the specs are almost identical within a decimal point even down to the price tag that's to the penny the same performance on the track was closer than throwing a blanket over them but TBR failed to test because it had a cracked rotor front brake from the factory wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah now comes the BSA and it sounds just like ebr haters if anybody give it this masterpiece of a BSA negative review.... In 1963 I believe it was I would have been 13 years old and for some reason at my local hills Honda dealer no one complained when I was sit by the hour on the showroom floor staring up at a 650cc triumph TT they came from the factory with no lights on it and I was amazed wow a real racer that I only see in magazines.... And next door neighbors of my cousin between the dad and the son-in-law and the Sun they actually raced Norton's BSA triumphs and matchless but was the same for me as sitting and watching. . And miraculously at age 16 to the summer between school breaks I I managed to get a summer job working for the Norton Ducati BMW motoguzzi Suzuki Bultaco dealership in 1967 so you can imagine how long I can make this comment but the one that stands out the most my boss considering my age at that time allowed me to go to the local loan company as they wanted someone to drive there repossessed BSA back to our shop for sale.... And like early in the stunt driver motorcycle icon video on KZbin where they we're finally released from jail and went to a warehouse and uncovered some motorcycles and he's sweating and shaking and trembling when he pieces eyes on a three-cylinder turbocharged triumph... At age 17 I'm staring at a BSA Hornet factory tracker that's some clown had added lights and make it street legal almost as everything else was Rickman with a four valve combustion twin cylinder head with the Rickman 750cc jugs Pistons as this was set up for the goddamn mile ama gnc1 championship bike.... And I'm about to pee my pants mentally picturing where in the hell can I twist the wick up to wfo and not get caught ... And then how in the hell am I going to explain how fast I went when it only has a tachometer that reads 8,500 RPM but I soon tried to twist off the needle as those m************ will f****** buzz out of sight. And apparently they must have heard me coming from a mile away as everybody but the owner was standing out in the middle of the highway trying to block me as I went past the shop tucked in tach nettle on 8500 one hand on the left front fork leg and the other hand pinning the throttle my head tucked in as tall as I can get it behind the tach and handlebars Dave Aldana style wow ... And at an age when I must have grown to weigh at least a buck 05 topped out on a BSA hornet . And to add to my luck of the cards later on at the terre Haute action track where I'm from I witnessed the real Dave aldeana doing the same thing sideways on our half mile dirt track that was featured in the movie on any Sunday and I'm in the grandstands... Wasn't as much fun as riding one but to witness Dave aldana sideways at 140 on one was priceless... That life is good as it led me to understand who Mert lawwell was and what a Harley Davidson is. That can become not a BSA but can do the same acrobats and stunts that I do not recommend anyone at home to do on something like this drive.google.com/file/d/1vzrBqdVp0Xt093OGJOvkV7jTU81USpwK/view?usp=drivesdk

This is a brilliant job. I used to assemble BSA bikes imported into Victoria. I didn't like the 500. So I am not sure that it is the best basis for a twin but I am a weirdo. The 650 and 750s were more civilized. The 250 was good to drive and efficient. For me personally a pair of the 250s to form a v twin 500 would have been more interesting. Even though I did all my riding with a passenger, bikes have had so much power for so long that I don't need so much as is on offer. Equally I would love to see fuel injection. It has made such a revolutionary difference to cars when driven on less than full throttle that it has a lot of potential for making a more civilized, more powerful and more efficient version of the bike.

@Oldbmwr100rs2 жыл бұрын
When working for a triumph dealership I'd speak to our rep, or if at training I'd do the same about a V twin or large single. Was always told that was not a direction they were interested in. They are parallel twins and inline triples. Of course when the 675 Daytona came out I asked if a 675 Tiger cub was in the works. He nodded as he told me they didn't have plans for anything like that. A few years later we got the excellent Tiger 800.
@samrodian9193 жыл бұрын
What beautiful bikes! Well done sir, your engineering skills are fantastic. The only criticism I have with the "modern" bike is that the tank looks proportionally a little bit too big for the rest of the bike, but that's an aesthetic thing and it's only a minor thing at that . Yes I know the hours of work it would take to make another one lol BSA take note, but of course they bloody well won't, too far up their own arses probably!

You're a very talented builder. The new BSA has a few KZbin sites, already. Most people hate the radiator, but I think it helps sell the bike in hot places, and there are other benefits that come with the fact it spoils the looks a little. It's a good job on looks, so I can't wait for reviews. It's a shame they didn't offer two models; one air cooled as well. Then people could choose, depending on where they live.
@jonyoung64052 жыл бұрын
I don’t care for the radiator either, must help with emission controls.
@aussieideasman84982 жыл бұрын
@@jonyoung6405 There are many advantages to having a radiator, but for people in cold climes the air cooled engines suffice, so let the purists have their choice. Surely, two models is not that hard.
