YES TO ALL OF THIS. And also use ALL the amps for the pedal demos also. We all have "not sterile" amps. And we give our amps the characters we want. If you go thru the amps with any pedal you have, it might make more audio sense for us. So we can understand the pedals a little bit more. Plus who doesn't love the sound of different amps ROCKING OUT!!!

As someone who also has a set in a corner. Absolutely raise the "Dumble" up. Maybe, just maybe a corner shelf for the Fender reverb? But if not the Fender reverb tank should be on the Princeton next to the Tone King due to the Tone King being a taller amp than the Princetons & the D25 looking around the size of the Princeton (if anything it looks smaller.) Just to my mind giving the amps a more natural looking slope towards the middle, even if one side is visually higher, I think would look more aesthetic.

Love the tone on that purple thang. It's got a "throaty" sound...plenty of good vocal formants. Try looking for shallow wire shelving and some short posts. When I was setting up my "raw electronics" devices, I ran across some that have a 14" depth, and they're perfect, even with the weight of the gear. Plus, you could put two shelves there and decouple the head from the cab. Might help avoid microphonics in the amp. Purple, though...yeah, I'm envious! 👍

Ryan, not to make more work for you, I would flank the Grant with both Princetons, put the Rev on the far right and put the Fender Reverb on that and push the Tone King on the far left. Visually that would look the best.🤔

Hate to say, I'm not crazy about the sound of those speakers with that amp. First, they both roll off the high end too much for the 4kHz+ sparkle an amp like that is all about. SRV used a combo of JBL 15" & 10" for his SSS sound. The 10" added highs to the massive 15" sound. Second, the 16 Ohm N12K has a peak right in the harshest sounding 3kHz range. While it has a certain clarity, it's ear-fatiguing without having higher sparkle. You might consider a Weber AlNiCo California to replace the N12K. The EMI ST is a nice sounding speaker, although the wider upper-mid peak of a Texas Heat might be better for an SSS, the California will at least add some sparkle if mounted up top. You could choose a paper dust cap if you want a daker sound, but I'd actually go with Aluminum for an SSS. It just sounds right.

Ryan, get or build a hollow riser and you can but the fender reverb under the singer, or build one to go over top of the singer and put the reverb back on top of it

If the corners of the room are not being used, higher up on the set, some corner shelves could be a good use in order to create more area for you to have things and also full in some of the area behind your head. The corner issue can be solved by having another white draw placed under it and using some scrap wood painted white to in the area between to make it look as though you have a full corner section.

Hi Ryan…. great job getting a matching cab and installing the raw speakers. Nice setup in the corner of your music room too. It looks great in that corner. Maybe you could put up a corner shelf above it to keep your Fender Reverb unit on. Just a suggestion.

We're here for YOU Ryan so YOU DO YOU! I say go for it and have fun The Princeton's are great, as you say, and as surely most agree, for what they do. It's ideal as a presenter to give a basic, fairly neutral tone that is instantly familiar to the ear, particularly for pedal demos. It makes for the perfect reference, though even then, hearing how pedals react to different amps with different amounts of headroom can be interesting too. I had thought myself that some pieces of gear you have had in in the past had maybe called for a different amp tone at times and it's always great to mix things up and find different sources of inspiration in any musical endeavor So again, I say go for it and have fun and I'm sure we'll all be here having fun along with you

That amp looks awesome along with the matching cab. It might require some investment, but you could get a couple mics to leave more of amps mic'ed up for filming. Then you could do the standard 2 Princetons and plug into something different like when you grab humbuckers or your baritones. Also, for whatever its worth, I remember CA code for water heaters had a requirement that the pan in which it sits is essentially a reservoir if it starts leaking. When I still lived in the (SF) bay area, my water heater sprang a leak in the flex connections, so my pan didn't do much. I was able to get the water shut off quickly though. Either way I think it's a good idea to raise the amp off the floor so we can see it :)

Beautiful looking (and sounding) head and cab. Love them. All the gear looks neat, but the aquamarine (?) colored amp* to the left of purple haze** really catches the eye, too. Yes. Getting a switch of sorts allowing you to swap between amps is a good should-a-done-it-earlier idea. As an aside, will the ghosts of dinosaurs be returning to haunt us after a six year absence? "If you had nice amps, wouldn't you want to use them?" Absolutely. I've thought about starting a KZbin channel and having it become popular just so that people send me gear. Although, I suppose that means I may have to learn to play (which I am, for a second time, attempting - the learning to play bit, that is). This is a joke, but also not a joke. I think we've all seen this, across all sorts of industries and mediums, and had comparable thoughts. Ha. * Ah. The Tone King Imperial Mark II. Ha. That's a title. Okay, it's a lot better than all the guitars that have SKU #s for names. C'mon, companies. Pay me to make up cool names for your guitars. ** It was that or purple people eater. My brain is tired. All the best.

My uninvited suggestion: a riser for the Grand with space under for the reverb unit, some non descript foam for behind the cab, several small corner shelves all the way up for more pedal space. OR if you have another small amp or cab you can make the reverb look like a head!

i like the princetons seem evenly spaced now, at least from the youtube viewer's perspective... and incorporating different amps sound like a good idea for some demos... you should get a peavey blazer or something like that too, so you can bounce from hi end to low end amps, see what happens (or like a fender frontman or some other budget amp...)

@5:14 I loved this brief glimpse behind the veil, that's a lot of surf boards. Don't you find that a mono rig feels kind of lame after a stereo rig? I certainly do. I mean if you're with a band, everything ends up as a stereo mix anyway so it's fine in a band, but when I'm practicing at home a stereo rig is what gets me fired up to practice. I'm not giving an opinion beyond "That's a pretty amp and cab combo you got there", because I've been watching this channel long enough to know you'll go with your gut anyway. You ask for opinions, but it doesn't feed you, it feeds the youtube algorithms ;-) and that's fine. No one who matters is secretive about the game of youtube.

The acoustician in me has no choice but to point out that you just corner-loaded an open-back cab, so don’t be surprised if you think it’s too bassy. Also I’ve been watching 60CH for years and years, and now it’s going to be a TOTALLY different show now that I know you’re right by a water heater. This changes everything.

I also got a new cab from Thomann. I got it as a B-stock item... But as usual with B-stock items from Thomann, you find out why it was a B-stock Item. No mounting screws. I also love the fact that the instructions state mounting screws are included. The lesson of the day is. Don't buy B-stock stuff unless you can fix it yourself. Because they don't correct their mistakes, I buy B-stock stuff anyway if I know I can fix it. But I'm going to ask for more of a discount next time.😁😁😁

Why worried so much about image - if you got amps use them. Who cares how much they cost, where they sit in a room and what people say. Maybe spend that time worrying about playing skills instead if you’re so concerned about stereotypes. Side note: how many people actually make their amp sound as flat as possible before using a pedal. I get why a demo would do that but it doesn’t accurately reflect real world use.
