do we actually know if zemo on turn 6 is more likely to get a bigger guy? I don't have the Frank Karsten juice in me to really math it out, but it's different from pulling something from their hand -- by turn 6, they're likely to have emptied small stuff from their hand, but whether the small stuff is still in the deck is entirely random; a 1 drop at the bottom of the deck stays there in a way that a 1 drop in hand doesn't. My intuition says it's a blackjack card counting type situation where you're evaluating their plays, and if their deck runs a bunch of 2s and/or if they missed early turns, that means it's more likely zemo gets a low drop -- whereas if they curved out, it means they drew the cheap stuff and the deck still has the big stuff?

Think of it this way. For simplicity, let's say my opponent's deck has two 1-drops, two 2-drops,..., and two 6-drops. If Zemo recruited the lowest cost card out of those 12, it would be guaranteed to pull a one-drop. But once my opponent's deck is down to 3 cards, there's some chance that they've already drawn both of the 1-drops, making it possible for me to recruit a 2-drop, or maybe even a 3- or 4-drop.

Zemo grabs knull, that's great. In a sera list, Baron Z can go z -> glad or vice-versa depending on how many cards are in their deck. 1 card -> zemu and glad doesn't risk dying for example

The reason (in my opinion, no stats) that Discard is not being played as much is fewer people got Proxima out of caches and she hasn’t come back around. Without her I am sure the win rate is lower and thus people either don’t run it without her or look for other decks.

Destroy, discard, Phoenix Force, hell no one is running Rogue or Enchantress right now so even Tribunal can beat Thanos. I am not sympathetic to people who want to nerf Thanos just for varieties sake and think cards should only be nerfed when they are doing something too broken like release Blob. People are playing Thanos because its fun and if they want to beat Thanos instead of playing him there are many viable paths to do so. It is popular but not oppressive.

My take on discard not seeing play: economy is tight, players listen to creators, card in caches was evaluated with one less power (OTA buff) and it took time for people to catch on to the card being pretty good. Understandably the recommendation from pretty much everybody was to skip this card. So nobody has it and it's 6000 tokens now.

I feel like Red Hulk will fill the same niche as Doom or Magneto as a generic 10/10 6-cost. In a meta focused on going as tall as possible in 2 lanes he beats out Doom and in a meta where Magneto's disruption isn't doing much the Red Hulk is better than Magneto.

I think the best solution to Thanos is don't have the stones start with the deck. Make Thanos a 1/1 shuffle 6 stones into your deck. Or delete the stones all together and have the glove be his new ability and make it do something.

okay hear me out on usagent. This might be copium but those “move your opponents cards deck” with like cannonball, jugg, kingpin, kraven (super cope). But play usagent on their 4 drop. Aero/jugg/cannonball their 5/6 drops to that lane where your smaller cards than beat them. “how do you win another lane?” idk doom or something kek.

First thought is that it doesn’t function. Second Dinner explicitly changed Soul Stone to draw 1-cost cards instead of Stones, so that the Sanctuary II location would be fun for everyone. Even if it’s 1-cost instead of stones, Time Stone needs a rework again. But still, I don’t think it’d be a major nerf. Might even be a buff. The stones thin the stones, you get the stones more consistently not less, and you still have enough meat in the deck to win games. Personally, I kinda think all the stones but Power Stone should lose their power. Maybe give some amount of that back to Thanos and the Power Stone’s aura. Make board clog a much bigger liability for Thanos, make them work to contest lanes, since I think a sneaky potent thing about Thanos is that even a single stone wins an empty location. Cheeky lane wins add up.

At this point, just rework thanos, delete all the stones and make the card text "at the start of the game, shuffle thanos glove into your deck". Thanos glove is a 0-0 which duble up thanos power.

For the same reason destroy need to be nuke. Is not possible the same decks navigate through tier S tier A for 1 year when there are patch 3 times every mounth, that mean the decks are broken.

Call me crazy, and maybe this is just a symptom of a Thanos meta-, but I think Phoenix force is actually the best deck right now. It’s so un interact and literally so free the fact that it can also run Shang Chi or in my opinion, the better option Alioth is insane.

@@loopingmoon1444 i went 2 for 2 with it in infinite conquest last season. All you have to do is play around matchups. Decks running armor usually didn't have prior and if they had KM then you just lean into multiple man or nimrod.

Since you must be learning about card acquisition for the first time, please heed my advice to only use Spotlight keys to open Spotlight caches after you have saved up four keys. Then stop opening caches for the week once you have opened the spotlight card(s) you want.

I get where you are coming from with the "nuke thanos" take but if they make the deck unplayable I'd really consider quitting the game for being scammed. This deck is so ridiculously expensive and without thanos I don't need mockingbird, cull,blob or even caiera. People bought these cards mostly to be played in Thanos and if the big bad himself gets neutered to unplayability we'd been grinding this game for a bunch of useless or niche at best cards
