I wish more companies would realize there are those of us with acne who have dry skin or normal skin that leans dry.

I strongly suggest The Ordinary's Salicylic Anhydrous Solution for dry skin with acne. But make sure you get -ANHYDROUS- not the regular one, the regular one is very drying. Anhydrous on the other hand is quite oily and pretty good for dry skin, but still has the 2% salicylic acid that is amazing at treating acne.

I’m not very much used to the changing camera angles. It’s quite interrupting and preferred the earlier edits whereas it’s not flashy. No need for extra shots, Dr.Dray. Only you speaking is already excellent.

What I noticed is that the local drugstores in my neighborhoods stopped selling the original SA cleanser. I could only find it online on Amazon, but I guess this is what Cerave was up to. I was so sad to see it go, but now relieved that it's back and with some added benefits. Thank you for this information!

Thanks for this update! Quick note about the editing: I really like the graphics and pop-ups! However, I also found the many side-angle shots where you aren't looking at the camera to be kind of strange, sort of like what you'd see in an interview or documentary.

@@rachelhoward7889 I didnt think Pamys' comment came off rude at all nor "nitpicky". I totally get where youre coming from though but I think theyre just offering feedback. I dont think it was neccesary to "go off" on them for a mature comment. The comment even mentions it was still an enlightening video. Just because someome says they dont like something doesnt mean theyre displaying hatred. In any line of work feedback is neccessary and its necessary for the provider to accept feedback in order to reflect what works for their audience's experience. I love that Dr Dray is experimenting though! Nothing wrong with it! But I think she's more than capable of taking criticism in her line of work.

Ironically, when I was first diagnosed with severe eczema at age 26, pg was in the steroid cream I was prescribed, triamcinalone (sp?). That sent me on quite a journey (2 years) to figure out why my itching couldn’t be quelled by steroid creams, and only kept getting worse.

Ever since I stumble upon one comment saying, "You should watch Dr. Gray's review on cerave products." And I immediately did, and I didn't regeret checking your channel most especially your reviews on cerave products. Been a cerave user for the past couple of months, fortunately my skin is loving it, haven't had any serious breakout during period. So I'm planning on switching the benzoyl to SA cleanser. Because SA sounds promising. Hopefully could get one in the future. Dr. Gray also mentioned about putting SA around your neck, I wondered why I was breaking out around my neck and when you mentioned it I remember putting the paul's choice around my neck, so I think that's what causes my breakout around my neck. Question Dr. Gray, if I switch to SA cleanser would it be okay to use the paul's choice toner?

Thanks, Dr Dray. In my own experience, I find the most effective is benzoyl peroxide 10. The 5 just doesn't have any noticeable effect. Within minutes BP10 starts to work and within a week my skin is clear. It seems to be hard to get hold of in England. I think the highest you can get is 5. It does cost me more to get imported products but worth it! I may try introducing salicylic acid into my regime too!
@carpediemearth
@carpediemearth Жыл бұрын
By 10 do you mean 10% benzoyl peroxide? Research has shown that 10% and 5% BP isn't notably more effective than 2.5% BP but can cause more irritation, so more than 2.5% BP isn't necessarily recommend. 2.5% is effective. Maybe in a wash off product 5% would be fine, but it's not needed in a leave-on product.

I hate when they put Niacinamide in everything, as my very sensitive skin reacts very badly to it. Either due to sensitivity or some kind of allergy. All I know is that if I use products with Niacinamide, and especially AHA; Glycolic acid, hello contact dermatitis, red inflamed skin, red bumps and hives😏😔
@db-gb5xi
@db-gb5xi 3 жыл бұрын
Dr Alexis Stephens says that it may not be the niacinamide that's the problem. She says if a product also has citric acid in it, that's more likely the culprit. Dr Dray does have a video with products that don't contain niacinamide.

@@db-gb5xi Good morning! Thanx as always for your help! personally, I’m none too fond of multiple actives in a product other than sunscreen. If I have a reaction, it makes it hard for me to figure out which one caused it! But I’m aware that many folks like the convenience. Have a wonderful Tuesday👍🏼☕️🦋💕🐬🌻

I can use all the rest, but Niacinimide BURNS. I enjoy my skin after, no redness. But omg WHY does it hurt so much? It's in LP Tolleraine sensitive cleanser. How can that be for sensitive skin!!

I have been using the Acne Control gel for over a year and it has been great! I have very little issues with acne/breakouts, but I have issues with seborrheic filaments and blackheads. This helps a lot! The Acne Facial Cleanser leaves me too dry for my liking, but helps absorb and remove the excess oil. I usually use it after a rough day, working out, or shaving.

Hi! So I understand that this helps with sebacious filaments? My acne is controlled and now I wanna treat that, do you think one of those products will help? 😭

@@francovasquez1105 Actually, yes! I alternate with Retinol. One night I use Acne control gel, and the next I use retinol. Both help reduce the sebaceous filaments.

Darn, neither of them are available at Chemist Warehouse (Australia) or IHerb AU yet. Keen to try them, especially the gel. I've been using the Neutrogena 2% Salicylic Acid Acne Wash for years, but it can be drying and the Cerave ingredients looks like it might buffer that a bit.. Thanks for sharing Dr Dray. I'd love to hear whether you think the gel could work for Keratosis Pilaris too?

Hey Andrea, I like your simple video style. It makes easier to concentrate on the topic and it feels more like a direct conversation. The new sudden changes on cameras and excessive editing is more distracting than useful. I just like the old style it feels more like you. Thanks.

Hi Dr Dray can you please do a video on Greyverse & Darkenyl to compare their efficacy and perhaps compare that to melaniq? Also, could you say a few words on the effect of home radiofrequency devices such as Tripolar V on any negative effect on melanocytes? (beard area for males) and finally can LED (Red Light) mask be used after applying a moisteriser? Thanks. I have noticed 4 grey hairs on my chin and freaking me out! 😖

The acne gel is the best spot treatment I've ever used! Clears up active pimples overnight and gets even better by the 2nd day. Also works lovely as a once or twice a week chemical exfoliator! I hope it's doing well on the market so it will stick around because it's truly awesome to have all those nice actives, and considering how much you'd pay for Paula's Choice, etc. that have the exact same actives, $17 really isn't that bad, and you really don't need that much to feel it working. Love it!
