New Chattanooga Fire Academy Video Goes Disco

There is a man alive in Orlando, FL due to your video. In early December of 2020 I responded to an auto accident in front of our church. At first I was just directing traffic because one of two lanes were blocked with one of the vehicles involved in the accident. The driver of the vehicle that got hit came up to me and said he thinks there is still somebody in the other vehicle. I ran over to it and opened the passenger door to find a non responsive male face down across the front seat. We called 911 and they said start CPR. Immediately your video came to my mind and I began administering chest compressions. I had help with another person checking for a pulse. We were able to get a weak pulse and a cough or two out of the victim before fire rescue arrived and took over. Rick Cruz was transported and lost pulse again in the ER. They too were able to resuscitate him. He visited our church last week for the first time since that fateful night. It was good to finally meet him and I will always credit your video for being able to save his life. Thank you guys, together we were able to prevent that family from having the worst Christmas ever by losing a father, brother and son.

Last year I assigned my drama students to take a piece of music and "do a skit" with it. The rules were (1) instrumental music only (2) use props. One of my guys was dancing to "Staying Alive" with a dummy that suddenly had to have CPR. I was very impressed! (Now, I wonder if he had seen this.) 😉
