I was given this watch by Christopher Ward to test for a couple of weeks before the release and what a pleasure it has been to have this watch on wrist. Great build quality and looks, all inspired from the good ol' 50s. Is it perfect...not entirely...

I'm waiting for the new black colourway to hit the Aquitane diver and then I'm 100% in on this watch. I've had my eyes on similar watches, but nothing beats this for the price: - Lumed bezel - Great color choices (I prefer the black) - Extra features like the red ring on the crown - A great bracelet, almost unheard of quality/features for the price

Thank goodness they used their brilliantly designed, easily adjustable clasp to make up for the mistake of using the double-sided screw pins. Apart from that, this one looks like a winner! Great review!

Being a sucker for vintage divers I immediately started looking for a variant to pull the trigger on and that GMT seems to be the obvious choice Although any of them would look great in the rotation but I'm afraid my Sig Flamma would be quite jealous As always Thanks for your professional reviews my friend 👍

The double screws are definitely much harder than single screw but I have a vice that can hold the bracelet securely and without scratching which allows me to operate a screwdriver in either hand and it's fine. The vice is actually a screw-down crystal press which works perfectly for twin screw fiddling. You just need the right tools is all. The benefit of the twin screws is that it is far less likely to come undone that single screw as the far-end screw turns into the screw pin rather than the link. I do like the twin screws actually.

Basically in this day and age there should be a better movement than the ETA 2824 / SW200 which can be hand wound without issue. Fact is there is a better movement it’s the ETA 2892 / SW300. The 2892 is a favourite of many better manufacturers such as IWC, Longines, Omega. I for one would pay the extra £50 for the use of a better movement , I suspect a 2892 will also require less service / maintenance over a long time.
@tancreddehauteville764
@tancreddehauteville764 2 жыл бұрын
The Sellita equivalent of the 2892-2 is the SW300, but it's a pretty rare beast. I assume there is a price jump between the SW200 and SW300, hence the rarity of the latter.

Awsome watch!...It's great that they stuck with male end links. A little nubbin of an end link would ruin the aesthetics of the oyster bracelet, well done CW. Let's hope Omega and Tudor take note.

A bit out of my reach in terms of price point but damn that is one good looking watch. I really like the colour, curved bezel and pretty much everything else. Good review. Colour variations aren't really my cup of tea so will probably not be pulling the trigger until they come out with some different colour alternatives down the line. Quite like the logo and the 6 o'clock date window. Shame they went to effort to provide screwed pins to bracelet and then decided to go with double-ended screws.....had a Oris with the same and it was a real pain to adjust. They'd have been better off sticking with the pin and collars or the previous C65.

I was (trying) to save enough for a Squale to treat myself at the end of the year, but this is so nice its making me think again. Nice to have options of course! Love the large undercut. And overall look of the watch. Mostly positive but a bracelet that needs a team of people to adjust is a negative! Great video as always, looking forward to the next.

The only thing I appreciate is the logo (without the name). Find it too big in diameter even if L2L is great. The Roly style indexes are 😞. The bulby saphir bezel is has been and 😖. The top hat saphir is too high IMO. 22mm lug width is too large. Really too much hype for a so-so watch.

What a disappointment, definitely much less interesting than the previous Christopher Wards. Everyone complains about the previous branding but this is much less interesting IMO. If I ever had any criticism of their branding options it would be the trident being a bit too big for my taste and they kept that. Shame
