Nice Craigo- Started to consider this process as I approach the final 2 exams. My work experience has been quite fragmented and not ‘consistent’ Had a pause in between where I was self-employed during the pandemic (Not related to the pandemic) I’m not sure how this would actually affect my application when I eventually submit/update it and how it would look🤔
@CRAIGO102 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't worry mate, as long as you have pieces of work experience that demonstrate the competencies, you should be just fine :) Breaks in employement shouldn't affect as long as you have 36 months of total experience!

Hi Craigo, thank you for this very helpful video! Thinking of starting to work on this soon. Is it possible that one fails the PER?
@CRAIGO102 жыл бұрын
Hey! Glad you found it useful! 😄 I wouldn’t say it is possible to fail it, you may be asked to review and amend/improve on your experience and then resubmit :)

That’s a very good question. I’m not actually sure in this instance who is responsible for sign off!

@@CRAIGO10 I'm sure I have learned a lot from being the director of my company. But now I'm not sure what CIMA's stance on this. I'm taking CIMA FLP soon so I need to know if I would even be able to graduate
@CRAIGO10 Жыл бұрын
@@FinancialFaiz I would call CIMA and ask for some advice. I don’t suspect it’ll be a problem, just need to make sure your experience will get signed off. You can’t be the first person in this position! 😁

Hey craigo I am on my journey to be a fully qualified cima. I am interested in pursuing a career in management accounts in the UK because of high salaries. Can you please tell ne if you have seen any foreigner working in the UK in field of management accounts. As I am worried about how to find sponsorship for management accounts roles. Just a recommendation could you do a talk podcast with such a person on your channel. I am sure it could turn out to be beneficial for many.

High salaries yes, high cost of living yes. It’s not all as rosey as it seems in the UK. Definitely looking at producing comment on nationalities working in the UK but currently it’s an area I don’t have a great understanding in! Sorry I cannot help :)

Do we have to do articles or will a role in deals advisory count as practical experience requirements?
@CRAIGO102 жыл бұрын
I recommend you take a look at the PER requirements and decide whether or not your experience fits into the assessment criteria!

Hello. I have worked for 3 years under an Indian Chartered Accountant as a full time paid staff in Accounting area. Am I eligible?

Take a look at the PER submission workbooks, you’ll be able to understand whether your experience is sufficient. I suspect it is!

Hey CRAIGO... should I start the PER process while studying CIMA or is it possible to start it once I'm finish with my exams..?
@CRAIGO102 жыл бұрын
You can do it whatever way you want. CIMA recommend you do it during. I kept a log of my work experience/what I achieved during & then did the official write up once I had finished. I recommend keeping a log so that you don't forget anything. Completely up to you I guess! :)

Hello Craigo. I've read that if one fails to submit their PER application within 4 years after passing the Strategic level, will be erased from CIMA register. Does this mean that they'll have to restart the whole CIMA program, pay and sit at all exams and so on??
@CRAIGO10 Жыл бұрын
That's correct, as far as I'm aware you'll need to resit all exams!
@alexandrulazar2690 Жыл бұрын
@@CRAIGO10 thanks a lot. But what happens if supervisors refuse to sign these forms (there are lots of supervisors, managers out there who are just jerks)? Is there any possibility to demonstrate your work experience via work certificates? I mean these are legal documents that actually state the former employee's job role, employment dates and responsibilities, documents which the company is legally obliged to release. Thanks in advance for feedback.
@CRAIGO10 Жыл бұрын
@@alexandrulazar2690 Is this really a problem? The purpose of the managers signature is just to confirm that you’ve done what you said you have. Nothing more! I wouldn’t expect that to be a problem!
@alexandrulazar2690 Жыл бұрын
@@CRAIGO10 true, but still, for example, I'm paying and studying CIMA on my own, without company support, and the managers in the company I work for are not exactly fond of helping their employees with this kind of endeavours, so that's why I was wondering if there's this possibility with work certificates.
@CRAIGO10 Жыл бұрын
@@alexandrulazar2690 hmm that’s really unprofessional. I would expect them to sign it even if they aren’t fond of it. What manager stands in a way of someone earning their qualification. If you’re worried then start doing what you can to build a good relationship with them!

Hi CRAIGO, I had completed the Operational Level way back in 2010 and in parallel completed my SAP FI certification. Since then, I have been working as an SAP FI Consultant. I read about the FLP program and was reconsidering if I should go for it. What are your thoughts and does my experience as an SAP FICO Consultant meet the Practical Experience Requirement? Thanks in advance! Regards, Kiran Kumar

Only you can answer that I’m afraid. Does your experience meet the competencies set out in CIMA’s PER?
