Hi great content! I'm planning on starting my CIMA journey this year and have exemptions for all 4 certificate level exams. The problem is I believe I have forgotten most of the concepts required for these exams. Is it still advisable to exempt myself for these exams or will this impact me when studying for the higher levels? Thanks
@CRAIGO102 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thank you! I would take the exemptions, but the textbooks & relearn. You’ve learnt the content before so it will be possible to remember. You’ll be fine going into operational! 😁

Thanks CRAIGO, you’ve got yourself a new subscriber! 👊🏻 I’ve done my AAT and now I’m looking to do my CIMA. If my company doesn’t provide the opportunity to gain the work experience required for CIMA (because I’m stuck in an accounts payable position), is it best that I move to a new company first before starting CIMA? Because there is no point in starting my exams when I’m not building up the 3 years work experience, right? Thanks mate, keep up the great content 🔥
@CRAIGO102 жыл бұрын
Nice one mate! Great to meet you! I’d say at this point having a position in accounts payable is fine, you can use this towards the work experience element (PER) of CIMA. I would certainly recommend only 1 to 1.5 years in core Accounts Payable and then I recommend some alternative experience. I guess look at the bigger picture, who is funding it as this may affect your decision? There isn’t a right or wrong really! Thanks man - appreciate it - hope that helped! 🔥

Top videos mate- just started E2, had all exemptions previously, doing online evening classes and was wondering what’s the best way to go about revision? Shall I make notes on the text book after each lesson and then cover exams practise questions on that chapter?
@CRAIGO10 Жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy - I appreciate that!! Spot on mate, the perfect formula is a mix of everything. Theory revision, practice questions, mock exams! Just make sure to revise with purpose. Set yourself goals for each session. Not having a purpose to each session will mean procrastination :) Good luck!

Alright, i am new to this life! I am wanting to be an accountnat and haven't a clue where to start. My uncle an experienced accountant reccomended CIMA, ACCA and AAT for starting off. So i don't know anything as i don't know whether whats better at getting me started off in this career path or whether online courses is held in the same regard as a college course, if you understand my meaning. And im a full time worker as a chef in Ireland and just need to know where to start in this wild goose chase. What equipment would i need where would i start as i really don't know what any of these terms are as i am like a baby to all this.
@CRAIGO102 жыл бұрын
I'd recommend you do a lot of research into CIMA, ACCA & AAT. AAT is a qualification that can be done before CIMA/ACCA, however you may have been to university and not required to do so. You'll need to check. Think about your end goal, what career do you want, research CIMA/ACCA and understand which one will allow you to reach your ideal career. You'll need nothing more than a laptop, pen & paper for any of it. You'll also need to think about how you're going to fund it. I recommend getting a position at a company where they're willing to fund your qualification, else it's very expensive!

Hi Craigo! Thanks for the tips 👌 Just wanted to ask what you would recommend me do because I'm looking to do CIMA with my graduate job and would be dropped into the MCS having had exemptions from the rest. Should I spend time revising all the previous content again including the certificate level? Also, could you explain briefly what is required of you to complete the 3 years practical work experience? Thanks
@CRAIGO102 жыл бұрын
Hey - my pleasure. Yes for sure - you'll get exemptions up to MCS as at some point you will have studied towards the required content. You'll need to re-learn for the MCS, give yourself sufficient time to relearn material, in my opinion at least 3 months given the volume. Regarding PER, i've done a video on the process here, give it a watch :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpXCe4eQZZuBd68

Great video. I have done my certificate level, completed E1 and sitting P1 soon. I once had an interview for a job, where the FD said my best advice was to complete CIMA as quick as possible - if you drag it out employers will view this as you have lack of commitment. At the moment, i am finance manager and trying to balance everything - which as you probably know can be challenging. It is looking that I will have passed my CIMA qualification around the 4.5 years mark. Do you think this is too long? I'd love to get your views on this.
@CRAIGO102 жыл бұрын
I can see that argument, but if you can see someone working through it progressively, 2 year or 4.5 years I think that comment is unfair. I would argue that 4.5 is too long, but then I did finish it in 2 years, 4 months so I would say that. It isn’t clear cut, ability, available time, demands of their role all come into the ability to work through the exams.
@tao67752 жыл бұрын
Same shoes, previously passed E1 and P1 under the old syllabus and was actually allowed proceed to case study exams without F1. Considering the period of time I have been working and away from my books - I'm considering to study all 3 from scratch in preparation for my OCS exams later this year.

I would recommend going onto the CIMA website and checking the PER requirements and what is specifically required. You'll be able to understand what is required in your role to meet the requirements. You cannot ignore the requirements. I'll be very suprised if you're doing CIMA alongside university, I recommend completing after university and utilise the exemptions. You could also go down the apprenticeship route. Good luck!

@@ridhisingla9025 Don't follow your parents. I'm sure London have opportunities for foreigner graduates. Finish your degree, work and take advantage of the exemption. Take CIMA alongside your work.
