Hi! I just wanted to say thank you! I’m 13 years old and I have a huge fear of flying. This year I really want to get over that fear. I have flown so many times and still I and terrified to step foot on an airplane. So I came to KZbin and searched up videos about flying and things like that. I’m flying Southwest Airlines like I normally always do and I was so excited to find you!! I’m going on a trip to Florida in March and I really wanted to get over my fear by then. And I wanted to thank you so much for making the videos you make! They make me so interested about flying! I would almost even consider becoming a pilot! So thank you so much!!! Hello K! Thank you for reaching out about your fear of flying! It is a common fear really. Now I won't profess that I have the end all of getting over that fear, but I will say personally I get over by learning about the fear. If I may recommend a book titled "Stick and Rudder: An Explanation or the Art of Flying" by Wolfgang Langewiesche. It was written in 1944 but is an aviation classic. Again, it may not solve the fear but may move you in the direction of learning more about it and possibly ways to overcome it. And even seeing you in the right seat of that Southwest jet one day! Good strategy is coming to terms with what you can and cannot control, and being OK with that. "Stick and Rudder" is a great book that addresses what a pilot can be in control of. For, it's also about what you can be in control of - thoughts, breathing, focus, reframing and so forth. If you believe you can be a pilot, you will be.

@Isabella fear of flying is very common, and is based from the unknown. I applaud you for reaching out to face those fears. Did you know many pilots started to fly to overcome their fears, and became amazing aviators. The late Bob Hoover, who was one of the best aviators to ever control an airplane, started off with terrible airsickness. He overcame that and became the smoothes aerobatic pilot to have ever lived. In addition to a great reference book is by Capt. Patrick Smith. I wish you the best!

Great video Ern! I love the new SR22T. This is my dream airplane. 1FM “Green Hornet” looks amazing! I loved that you flew into BNA and that on the flight out of BNA at 6:06 the controller calls out my home airport M54 Lebanon Airport to another aircraft. Student pilot here working on my ground school and about to take the written before officially starting PPL training. I have 5 hours right now. Can’t wait for more videos and if you want a cross country come back to M54! Our EAA863 chapter does a great 5th Saturday breakfast fly in! We would love to have you out!
