NEW CONTENT // Acura NSX GT3 EVO 22

The Acura NSX GT3 EVO 22 will be arriving in the 2025 Season 1 update!
Building off the successes of the original NSX GT3, which debuted in 2017 and won dozens of races and the IMSA GTD championship, the Acura NSX GT3 EVO 22 made its debut for the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. It ended its debut season with a checkered flag at the Petit Le Mans for Gradient Racing, who had already given the EVO 22 its first IMSA podium at Long Beach earlier in the year, and it added numerous other victories and championships in other series around the world that same year.
The NSX GT3 EVO 22 refined its predecessor's reliable platform with re-tuned suspension geometry, upgraded intercoolers, and wheel system revisions, among other improvements. At its heart remains Acura's 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine, capable of producing 520 horsepower. As with other GT3 machines, the car features adjustable traction control, anti-roll bars, and rear wing settings to help drivers maximize performance.

i think most multiclass on iracing are based on real life racing series. Besides, I dont think GT3 is SO much faster than GT4, which could make multiclass with those two kinda frustrating, blue flags would be a nightmare. is a lot easier dealing with trafic with prototypes since they are lot faster and have tons of grip, the proto just needs to pass the slower car while the slow car just hold the line

Awesome job iRacing! I love the ever-expanding lineup of sports cars on your service. However, will this mean an increase in car model limit per session also? What will be the new car model limit? 15 , 16 ?

Currently the limit for IMSA races is 14 (4 GTPs, 1 LMP2, 9 GT3s). There are now 10 GT3 cars for the IMSA field, as well as the 5 GTPs if you include the Ferrari 499P, and the Dallara LMP2. So to my count that's 16 cars per session. Big improvement from the 7 car limit of a few years ago.

But from what I hear elsewhere the limit will be increased to 16. That'd be good so the cars can all be used in the same session.

I’m thinking about getting into Iracing. I just grabbed a PS5 pro and been playing GT7. Got a wheel with paddles, peddles, and a stick shift addon on the way. I see ACE comes out next month as well. I’ve never played a PC race sim before as I’m new to race sims. Is iracing hard to get into? I’ve already kinda listed some tracks I’d like to buy. No cars yet though. Haven’t subbed yet either. Wondering about the population and if it’s hard to find races with tracks you have and also can I practice with Ai?

Population is arguably the best out of any sim, you'll never have a problem finding a race in any of the popular or well-known series. Vintage ones tend to be dead. For example my GT3 race last night at 7pm MST had 7 splits of 27 cars each. I never have an issue not finding a good race with lots of people. It's definitely more geared towards sim racing with race cars(obviously) as compared to an arcade style GT7 or even ACE. If you enjoy good motorsports racing I'd definitely recommend iracing.

Forgot to add yes, you can practice in public sessions or yourself with a test drive or AI. I learn the track by myself, then practise racing lines with other cars, then a race. Hope this helps 👍🏻

love the addition, though i believe the car won't be as popular as the other current GT3 cars. would really love the Lexus and of course the Aston Martin. but most of all i look forward to the all new AMG GT3 based on their new gen AMG GT. I expect this car to make his real world debut for the 2026 season, so i guess its a march/april 2026 release in iRacing.

Same cylinder count, aspiration, and number of turbos, so that's not surprising. NSX is a bit deeper though, likely the result of not having a "hot vee" engine like the 296 (whose engine is splayed to 120 degrees instead of the usual 60 degrees for V6s for that specific purpose). The Ferrari also likely revs a little higher (sounding a bit more shrill in the process), given it possesses an engine displacing over half a liter less air with a way higher bore/stroke ratio (NSX's bore diameter is only 3 mm larger, but its stroke is 7.5 mm _longer)._

We've had a massive timelag with outdated GT3 cars in the sim for years, which is now rightly being addressed with these additions, plus from financial point of view it only makes sense for them to have this heavy of a focus on adding the most-used car class - both IRL and in iRacing - to the simulation.
