I like the idea of essentially removing the old and installing the new...but $200+ seems a bit steep...not ScooterWest's fault...the plain silver one is $150, buy Vespa parts...pay Vespa money! Repainting the silver cover I already own during the winter months when I'm not riding as much (or at all), seems like the prudent thing to do! I agree with one Mr. Robot...what was Vespa thinking when they installed that cover on the Notte? Still, as always, this was very informative!

Greetings Robot. I've always followed your directions religiously and you have guided me through various improvement projects. I assembled the needed tools and discovered that I was having an issue with the front bolt on the air box that just has to be loosened. I discovered that that particular bolt is not a t-30 torx but was a phillips. Disappointed at this point because I did not have that adapter available. I got lucky though when I figured out that I could loosen the bolt with a long phillips screw driver placed directly through the little vent on the skirt. Belt cover installed, thanks for the help.

1 can krylon gloss black and 5 min done. $7.95. for me the yellow stripes have to be gone and the gold rims iffy also.

Would matte black cover look better on a Notte? or Glossy Black? Can anyone share a picture of what it looks like on both cases?

i have a Notte and I would go with the flat black. Why make something like the belt cover stand out?

Robot, I think it would be cool if you took a Notte 300 and painted Racing Sixties style, gloss black stripes in the same positions as the stripes are on the Racing Sixties models.
