This is a great change. Now kids who aren't freshmen phenoms can catch up by Jr year, and schollys wont be revoked for a kid who peaked Freshmen year.

I find your approach very sensible and straight forward. My son is a 2025 LHP who just got a phone call from a high academic D-3. Because of their looser restrictions, do you think D-3 coaches will use their ability to get kids on their boards early or even ultimately offer earlier than before - like to make verbal commitments to beat a potential Junior/Senior year blitz? Particularly to high academic minded kids who are potential tweeners between let's say Ivies/Patriot League D1's and D3's like NESCAC or SCIAC?

I don’t think this will change much for the D3s and high academic schools from an offer or commitment standpoint. That said, it does equal the playing field a bit more for them which is helpful.

@@RecruitingWithAlex I recently saw that a 2025 committed to Brown University which really surprised me knowing all the academic gate keeping that has to occur. (I played at an Ivy back in the late 70's-early 80's).

Hello, Alex. Thank you for the breakdown! Question: you mentioned the only contact coaches can have for later grads (2026 /2027) are camps. Are the camps you are referring to are on college campus? Not independent showcases & camps?

Yes you can email any level before junior year.

There is an exception in the rules that allows Australian (southern hemisphere kids actually) to talk to coaches and visit schools at the beginning of there junior year (which is Jan not Sept). But I find that the USA coaches don't seem to know about this exception. How is the best way to let them know it is ok? As soon as they see class of 2025 they don't respond. To ones that do respond, we have to show them the rule so they continue the conversation. It's just very awkward.

The academies historically could contact in July before Junior year, whereas normal universities was Sept 1st. But not sure if this changed
