One last short comment I liked many of her movies after Bewitched but my favorite will always be Lizzie Borden because it was such a departure from Bewitched the way she looks at her sister at the end it's like you don't know if Lizzie actually did the killing or not almost like she wants to kill this sister a case of rape was really good as was her version of Dark Victory that I believe had Robert Foxworth in it thank you facts verse for being there for us and for the videos you give us have a nice holidays to your staff into fellow Watchers like myself sincerely Joe Cooper and long maybe which stay on the air in syndication receive it

RIP to Elizabeth Montgomery and all of the Bewitched characters who have passed. David White passed away in 1990, not quite two years after his son Jonathan -- his son from his first marriage to Mary Welch (who tragically died at age 35 of complications of her second pregnancy with David). Jonathan perished in the Pan AM flight 103 bombing over Lockerbie Scotland. White became very despondent and depressed over the death of his son Jonathan on the Lockerbie flight and it has been said he died of grief.

I loved "Bewitched"!! I never missed an episode. My cousin looked exactly like Elizabeth Montgomery (her name was also Elizabeth) and people used to stop her and tell her that all the time. Since my cousin danced for Patsy Swayze, she got quite a dose of fame herself. I love this channel! It's always a walk down Memory Lane and I think of things that I haven't thought of in years! I know exactly how Elizabeth felt when she received a cancer diagnosis, when she truly had no idea she had it. The same thing happened to me, and my type of cancer also has a very poor survival rate. At first, you're in shock. Then it's, "How did I get it?" "How did four doctors miss it?" and "How long do I have?" She was a great actress from a famous family and she had lots of years to make her mark in Hollywood. RIP, Beautiful Bewitched!

Elizabeth Montgomery cared about people. Having her family wait in the living room is an example. I've also read that the cancer had spread to her lungs. Colonoscopies weren't as common back in the 90s as they are today. If they were, i'm sure that the cancer would've been found early. We were fortunate to have had Elizabeth in our lives through her incredible work. Here are some of my favorites: WAGON TRAIN, RAWHIDE, CASE OF RAPE, LEGEND OF LIZZIE BORDEN, SECOND SIGHT, and many others. But we will always love her as Samantha, because this character represents who Elizabeth is/was, kind, caring, smart, confident, and would stand up against bigotry and hate. BEWITCHED and Elizabeth's legacy lives on. Thanks for the video. Liz died at 62.

What about Agnes Moorehead's untimely death
@kerrykeene6471 Жыл бұрын
There is a 2021 video that looks at the autopsy done on Eliaabeth. A forensic pathologist looked at the cause of Elizabeth's death. She started feeling ill in February of 1995, during her last TV movie. Those on the set noticed that she wasn't feeling good and that she had lost weight. But Liz fought through it, concerned about completing the movie and her colleagues. Her doctor gave her some painkillers. But they soon didn't work and her pain increased. The video pointed out that Liz was also taking care of her husband, who needed a hip replacement. Once the film was completed, her family got Liz to a hospital and they performed surgery to see what was going on. By then it was too late. She was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer that had spread to her liver and lungs. Pain had also spread to Liz's adomon. She passed away eight weeks after the diagnoses. What's sad is, Elizabeth, i don't think, ever met some, if not any, of her grandchildren. She still had so much work that she could've done. Elizabeth Montgomery was a kind and caring person, and she will not be forgotten. ❤ R.I.P.

I didn't care for Bewitched, except for Elizabeth Montgomery's beauty and humor. However, I enjoyed her performances as Sayard Luckett in the pre-Revolutionary America historical miniseries, The Awakening Land (1978); Belle Starr (1980); and the movie, The Trial of Billy Mitchell (1955). She also voiced Samantha in at least one episode of The Flintstones! I wish she hadn't been misdiagnosed, and had survived to perform more great parts.
@movierun2 жыл бұрын
Yes! I forgot about the Flinstones! She also appeared in quite a few TV dramas from the '50s and early '60s - great spots in "The Untouchables", Boris Karloff's "Thriller", and "One Step Beyond" to name a few. I thought that some of the early episodes of Bewitched were not bad - they seemed to feature more of Montgomery's wit, charm, and comic abilities. As the show wore on, it focused more on Samantha's "goofy" relatives, and Montgomery's role seemed to become more of a "straight-woman" to their antics (with the exception of the character Serena which brought her comic and acting skills back into play). Yes, she certainly died too early. A beautiful and talented woman.

Nor do I claim to be though I've never smoked, drank, or even did drugs.

I loved Elizabeth Montgomery ❤️ but I didn’t realize how talented and accomplished her husband William Asher was. Looked him up and his fantastic history of film and TV made him a legendary. 🤓

William Asher directed the beach party movies with Frankie Avalon and Annette funicello. From Ms. Harper Stacey.

It’s crazy to think people believe they died because they were dabbling in witchcraft. I always wondered if the chemicals they used to create the smoke when disappearing made them sick. Something they were working with on the show could have caused cancer.
@stephaniestanley80412 жыл бұрын
Tim @ 3:07 that's Barbara Eden. I don't think her life could have been prolonged after diagnosis. So this video is misleading. Early diagnosis may have made a difference.

I hate people who bring up curses the hole ignorant lot. I seen enough of them crazies over the last six years you know what I'm saying. Elizabeth was a kind soul. Bewitched was my favorite show as a child. they used to have reruns around 12 so I would rush home to watch the rerun while eating my lunch and rush all the way back to school. R.I.P Elizabeth.

The rival show I Dream of Jeannie is the opposite because Larry Hagman lived to be 81 and Barbara Eden is still alive at aged 91, and she is still active. There is no curse, but a lot had to do with all the excessive drinking and smoking on set. Those were real drinks from what I've read, and the cocktails always kept flowing in 60s and 70s shows. This was just part of Middle Class culture during that era. Unfortunately, drinking and smoking can be a risk factor that causes cancerous polyps in our colon along with red meats and genetics. Liz ate healthy, but she cooked a lot of red meats, drank alcohol, and smoked. If alive today she would be in her 80s. Nancy Kovak who played Darrin's ex, and the twins that played Tabitha and Adam respectively are the only ones still alive from the series nearing their late 50s or early 60s, while Nancy Kovak is aged 86.

The woman dancing at 3:17 is not Elizabeth Montgomery. It's Barbara Eden - the other "magical" TV icon from the '60s and '70s. (Hey wait...Eden was in a show about supernatural magic... and she's still with us and just turned 90!...so much for "magic" curses - LOL!)

I watched "Bewitched" in syndication growing up in the 70s and 80s. I also remember her movies like "Between the Darkness and the Dawn." Those movies are available on DVD and can be viewed on-line. I might just watch one those movies tonight.

My brother was in a commercial w/her for a cookie that was sold in Japan. It was supposed to be a bday party & Montgomery was serving the cookies(which were delicious btw,) to a small group of children seated around a dining room table My brother kind of looked like he could've been her son, so I think he was seated next to her. There was a boy in the ad who kept asking her to twitch her nose even though they were told not to bring up the show to her ( probably bcuz she just wanted to film the ad & not reminsce about playing Samantha Stevens) . Anyway, the shoot was only a few hours & we got several boxes of those yummy cookies (In case you're wondering my brother got paid in $$ as well👍) . She looked a bit older but still beautiful ( I think she was in her early 50's at the time) & I had a feeling she was nice once u got to know her. Sad that she passed away not so many years later at a relatively young age 🙁

What is Cancer Research? I realize if they find a cure for this horrible disease, there will be a total collapse..unemployment, plus the wealth of these doctors, etc. My mom and dad died of cancer, 4 out of 5 of my Uncles died of cancer on my fathers side; on my mother's side her mother, brother, sister all died. Then my own son melanoma and myself breast and my nephew of leukemia died. My cousin breast and colon. And my daughter's father brain cancer died. And my Mom died and they gave 5FU and that drug is still being used. Where is the money for research going???

Thank you for the Elizabeth Montgomery video that I just watched I have heard about the cancer curse before are you aware that Alice Pearce the first mrs. Kravitz in the First full season had to be replaced because of her untimely death it is said that she also died of cancer I am unaware due to my age I was very young when the series first aired I was eight years old when it first went off and I will be 60 this coming January and I'm still a great fan of the reruns it is said that Agnes Moorehead died and she look terrible in the last movie I do not know if it was cancer-related or not but I do have heard whether it be room or not that Alice Pearce that was the first Gladys Kravitz that is Pearce and she was a very good Gladys but Sandra Gould filled her shoes quite nicely it was nice to see George Tobias continue as her husband I always loved him my favorite episode is there's a lot of them but when Serena turn mrs. Stephen's into a cat and Samantha had to go into the neighbor's house to find their gases sterical Ruth McDevitt was the neighbor and when Tabitha was old enough to get in the storybook and climb the Beanstalk and turn the Golden Goose into a regular goose and as the guard said Ivan Dixon she did a bad no no there are definitely shows there should not be reboots of Bewitched is one of them I admire Lisa Hartman for trying but really she should have involved Erin Murphy somehow I wish you would do a story on what happened to Adam played by David Lawrence to this day I do not know why he is never mentioned or discuss sincerely Joe Cooper

As much as I loved the show when I was a naive kid, I realize it's shows like this that paved the way for Harry Potter! Not so naive now there really is a spiritual battle going on... aside from that I liked her and she was very beautiful in a non classical way.
@jameswood2312 жыл бұрын
You are spot on! We are in a spiritual battle. The LORD GOD will not be mocked. The enemy will use anything to capture entire generations with the lie of innocent imagination. As an actress, Elizabeth Montgomery was very talented, top-notch. She was a very vocal and liberal in her ideology and political stand. It is well known she clashed with her father on these matters who was very conservative.

I guess the questions I would have would be: Why would they perform an autopsy on a 62 year old woman with cancer? This happens all the time. The takeaway to all of this.....If you are 50+ years old, get a colonoscopy
