I too grew up watching Bewitched. I met her in the mid-70s. I was a skinny 16-year-old with shoulder-length hair. Robert Foxworth and other notable stars were filming scenes from a Disney movie in a nearby small town and she was there with them. The location was on the shore of the Sacramento river. I approached her and asked her for her autograph. No makeup, no fancy clothes, she was dressed all in denim. But, she was stunning to this young man. Without hesitation she said yes to the autgraph and asked my name. She was having difficulty writing with the pen and paper I gave to her. So she found an old piece of wood in the dirt and got on her hands and knees to sign her name. I was taken aback that she would go to all that trouble. She gave me the paper. I thanked her and told her she didn't have to go to all that trouble. She gave me the Samantha smile and said "That's okay."

@Facts Verse I love the episode where Darrin reconnects with an old friend and his gold digging wife. She made Samantha feel inferior w insults so Sam zapped up a mink coat from identical minks. The woman was obsessed with the coat and wanted to buy it from her. This hurt Darren feeling he was lacking in providing for her. Samantha gave the coat to the woman who was shocked she would give away something worth a fortune. Sam realized Love is more important than anything material. It's been awhile since I have seen it but that episode really showed how strong and deep their love was for each other. The old friend's wife was shallow and condescending. Sam felt they were putting Darrin down for not being as successful, so she really whipped up the coat to put Darrin in a good light and to shut up the snob but it wound up hurting Darrin.

@moeschorsch9656 "Learn to spell: CANNOT is ONE word...NOT TWO!" Per Merriam-Webster: This dictionary defines cannot as “can not.” The word and the phrase mean exactly the same thing: both are the negation of the very common and useful verb can. The only difference between them is that the closed form, cannot, is much more common. By the way, a simple period was all you needed in your first sentence.

It is still entertaining, mostly because of Montgomery. But I watch it now with new eyes. How angry and threatening Darren always was, shaming Samantha for who and what she was! How meddling, domineering, and abusive the other characters (boss, neighbours, Darren's mother) intent on everyone being the same and/or obeying them! It's an allegory for fearful, conservative societies, making enemies (eg, of Endora) for no reason, hysterical about their imagined evils (eg, the children's magical abilities), and destructive in their obsession to dominate, oppress, and control. With the possible exception of Samantha's mischievous lookalike sister, no one in the witch community was out to get or harm anyone, but the mortals operated as though they were a dangerous threat just because that's what they thought. That's how discrimination works.

🤔. I’m not sure.I think he was jealous, actually. Like David Cassidy’s father, SO SO jealous of his success. Both them would never give their children any credit, but they chased daddy’s approval to the end, sadly. But Elizabeth’s father was pretty successful on his own. Once. But his daughter absolutely overdid him as far as “fame” goes. TV was lowbrow then. But hey, who knows her father? Everybody knows her. Perfect. 👌

Met her at her home in mid 90's or so working for a Christmas light installation company. She was the warmest, most authentic soul. She gave my brother and I a great tip and refreshing beverage. Her home inside was just that, very homey and warm, comfortable feeling, quite unlike the somewhat cold opulence of many of the other homes of well-to-do we had been to. SO glad to have had the privilege of meeting a truly special and rare soul. (PS: she was in the middle of working on this giant fake tree they had put inside her living room so it looked as though a tree had grown right there, it was awesome and she was just a classy, charming, kind lady.

Cancer took my husband and he wasn’t diagnosed till it had already spread from his Pancreas to his liver and the doctor said get your affairs in order you will be dead in two weeks. I cried for an entire week, I was in such a state of shock. His work buddies said go to MD Anderson which we did and they gave him two years more of life which allowed us to give him two birthday parties and we celebrated our 40th Wedding Anniversary and renewed our vows in church and had a beautiful party. I can’t say enough good things about MD Anderson for cancer treatment. They prescribed the chemo and he received it at the hospital at home then we went for follow up consultations back to MD Anderson.

A Santa Fe-based jet-set pal of mine in the early 1990’s, Lou, flew out to L.A. one weekend to attend a charity fundraiser in Beverly Hills in which Ms. Montgomery was a featured celebrity. He got to meet her and he hung out with her and her then husband, Robert Foxworth. When he returned to SF after the event, we had dinner and he told me all about it. Having always been a huge fan of hers, I was happy to hear from Lou that not only was she beautiful, down to Earth and a delight to hang out with, she also apparently had a wicked sense of humor, to boot. I found it an interesting corroboration about her favored motor vehicle as mentored in this portrayal. As it turned out, Lou and Elizabeth & Robert departed the event at the same time. When the parking valet delivered Ms. Montgomery’s sleek coupe to her at the wait station, Lou got a huge kick out of Elizabeth’s Bentley’s custom license plate: “BENT LIZ.” I’d say that’s a pretty good testimonial to Samantha Steven’s wicked sense of humor!🎉😂 🥳 I was, like the rest of her fans, genuinely crushed at her way too early departure. In spite of all the other films of hers I’ve enjoyed, I’ll always remember her as the gorgeous, sweet natured and funny as hell witch with the heart of gold-and the razor sharp comic timing. 💙💙💙🙌

My father met her on Hollywood Blvd in the early 60's. My father was a Marine Staff Sargent at the time. She was coming out of a store, I can't remember which one. My Father happened to be walking into the store at the same time she was walking out. My father was in his green class B uniform and obviously looking like a Marine. As she went over to her car, she noticed she had a flat tire. She remembered seeing my father walk past her and into the store. She came back into the store and saw my father and asked if could help with her flat tire. My father said yes, and went out to the car and changed the tire for her. She thanked him very politely and offered him tickets to some show in town, I can't remember what show it was, something at the Pantages Theater I think. My father politely refused as he knew he was shipping out to Vietnam in a few days. Elizabeth was one of the nice people you meet in Hollywood, very unassuming and friendly to everyone.
