Good video! It would be interesting to see this up against both the Milwaukee M12 circ saw ($149 bare tool) and the Skil 12v circ saw. The Skil sells at Lowe’s as a kit for $99 that includes their quick charger and a 4ah battery, whereas the Dewalt sells for $139 bare tool.

I snagged the Skil 12V for $35 bare on Amazon a few weeks ago 😉 The price went away by the time I went to post the link, though.

When I got to Fasteners Inc tool store somewhere in Sacramento CA I only got the tool for $99.00 Bare Tool. And then I also purchased the Diablo 5-3/8" 36 carbide Tooth Finish Blade (3/8" or 10mm Arbor Size) I purchased mine for Trim Works and Light Carpentry applications. Because the typical Circular Saw that I using for Heavy duty Carpentry and Framing is my DeWalt Corded Brushed 7-1/4" 15amp motor Worm Drive Circular Saw with Electric Brake (model# DWS535B) and my backup circular saw or Secondary saw for framing and heavy duty Carpentry is my SKILSAW Southpaw Sidewinder 15amp Dual Field Motor, 7-1/4" Corded circular saw, no E-brake or soft start (model # SPT67M8) this new DeWalt Xtreme 12V Brushless cordless 5-3/8" circular saw is great for my Trim Works.

Very happy with mine😁 and to the people trying to compare it to the skil 12v kit for $99.... cheaper isn't always better. Skil is still making birdhouses DeWalt is on another level. And to all the Milwaukee fan boys....did u ever notice how DeWalt doesn't have near as many sales on there tools??....it's because they don't need to because they will always be the leader and people follow. Every job site I go to is dominated by DeWalt. The Milwaukee I see the most of on the job is the packouts which call me old school but I don't see the point on spending a butt load of money on plastic lol I just don't get it. Anyway the DeWalt 12v saw is a bad ass in its own right and a must for pros or dyi'ers

Been using that 12v for several months now and it does deliver by means of weight, size and ability to drive screws and small bolts. I have a 60v circular saw and do think this 12v will fill the gap of smaller jobs. Looks and performs nicely for it's 12v ability I think. Thank you for introducing this to us.

@craftsmantrucker68673 жыл бұрын
Hey I have the same model of the saw and I've been using it in my jobsite for 3 weeks now. I'm a Texas state resident and a licensed and certified carpenter/framer. And I have a framing job in Sacramento CA so I traveled that far to make some money it's a great pay and great contract. And being my first day I drive around the town in Sacramento CA to grab me some framing nails for the job, and some sledgehammer to replace my old ones and other stuffs and goodies and I passed the tool store there name Fasteners Inc! So I checked the tool store and low and behold I stumbled upon the black and yellow tools (DeWalt) waving Hi! at me and until then I saw this little 12V Circular Saw! And I was like what the hell is this?! So I talked to the store they told me that this saw is New from DeWalt tools and they showed what the hell it is they grabbed one of their Saw for demonstration they handed the saw to me and I made some sample cuts. And I was shocked of how light the saw! It's small and light perhaps lighter than my buddy's DeWalt 20V Atomic saw. So without hesitation I've seen enough I've seen the tool in some action even though it's a demo. And I purchased the tool Man that was a good stop on that store before I head over to my Jobsite. I purchased this saw to replace my old Ryobi 18V 5-1/2 Circular Saw for my Trim Works because the circular saw that I'm using for framing is the big one that I have is the Dewalt corded Worm Drive Circular Saw with brake. So this new Dewalt 12V circular saw is good for my Trim Works, it can cut 2x4 and 2x6 but it cannot cut 4x4 because of the blade size. This saw is only good for light carpentry applications and trim works. I'm happy with my purchase on that day! I love the saw!

Nice review, the saw looks good for those on the Xtreme platform. I have Dewalt saws and like using them, but take the Metabo HPT 6.5" Deep Cut Saw FTW on trim and standard-duty projects. I know, 12v vs 18v isn't a fair comparison; however, the Deep Cut isn't much bigger than that little 12v Dewalt and can cut as strong as and deeper than a DCS570 (also a good standard-duty saw, even without PD or FA). Lastly, blade right isn't wrong, it just means more practice cutting with your left hand. Keep up the good work.

Omg yes I have been waiting for this to come out!! It's the perfect ultra light saw to help with my forearm injury, I think the price is silly since it competes with the better built M12 fuel saw and I much prefer the build quality of the Milwaukee but I don't like the extra fat handle, doesn't help with my forearm, and it doesn't have a dust chute so using it indoors is a big NOPE for me. As soon as it goes on sale or comes with any free battery I'm taking it and selling my more than 2lbs heavier 6.5" fuel saw!

I wanna update my comment about this DeWalt Xtreme 12V circular saw. Besides doing Trim and other Fine Works, I'm also using this saw for Plunge Cutting when I'm doing Framing! Because the circular saw that I'm using for Heavy duty framing is my DeWalt Corded Worm drive saw and my Makita Hypoid Saw and they're heavy as Mule! So this New DeWalt 12V circular saw is perfect for Frame plunge cutting it's light weight perhaps like a Feather weight! And only for Light Carpentry applications and Plunge Cutting, but I ain't gonna use this for cross cutting 2x4's, 2x6's and 2x12"s it can do it but I don't want to take the risk of frying the tool. The saw is great And the Mobility is Excellent, I also don't use this saw for Rip Cutting, I'd rather have my Worm drive and my Hypoid Saw to do that job instead.

Always wanted a reason to have the m12 saw, but I guess my issue with it is the lack of dust extraction option. Oddly, the euro version of the m12 saw does have a dust port. You do have better options like the Makita 18v saws if compact is really your thing.
