With regard to the ramps moving up and down, I did not have my wheel chocks on the new trailer so the whole truck and trailer was moving forward and back WAYYY too much. I bought a new set of chocks already. That movement is exactly why I run the chocks!

Good job brotha bc that rocking back and fourth while your truck is in park, is only messing up the gears ⚙️ inside of the transmission.

Hi, I commented on the last video with the constructive criticism about your fluctuating sound. I mentioned that the voices were too quiet and then the music was too loud. I just wanted to say that you nailed the sound in this video! Thank you for listening to my request. I hope the new trailer works out for you the way you want. Please keep the videos coming.

Nice vlog, nice trailer congrats! seriously block it up with wood under your rear lights before you flip open your ramps It'll keep the rear part of the ramps from waving noticed that when your loading the truck... i use a 12"×12"×12" block under each corner works perfect.

Agreed, ALL trucks have their issues, EVEN brand new ones! This truck serves double duty for me so while it may be a bit of a unicorn, it’s EXACTLY what I wanted. It does act more like a big truck than a pickup truck but I’m ok with that. Pickups are faster but THIS truck is bigger, heavier, bigger axles, brakes, engine, transmission etc and is MUCH SAFER pulling the same or even more weight than a pickup, 4500,5500, etc. That’s just this man’s opinion, your mileage may vary!😂. Thanks for the comment, we love the interaction.

The Strap keeps the ramps from rattling.....a must.
@adventuresintrucking19959 ай бұрын
Yea everyone says that.. ours don’t rattle though.. they’re locked down with the cam over lock as well as the bar on the side locking it in place so we dont need one
@adventuresintrucking19959 ай бұрын
Theyre so loud bouncing down the road so i can totally understand
@jamesedwards3969 ай бұрын
With the cam locks near the forward edge of the ramp, it is a tight fit, no rattle for us. Maybe other trailers don’t have the forward clamp, not sure. I thought I saw a Big Tex w/o it.

Hey guys, nice trailer, I have a few questions if you don't mind. I too have a freightliner M2 sports chassis, looking into getting a step deck, and I was concerned about about a few things with the truck and step deck trailer trailer combo. One of those concerns was the clearance between the truck bed and the bottom of the step deck part of the trailer, especially with those side sections of the truck that are raised a few inches when it comes to turns. The other concern I have is the height of the hitch on the truck being to high, raising the front of the trailer up and the trailer riding at a pitch, and the back end of the trailer riding to far down. Could yall give some feed back so far as to what yall have experienced with those concerns? Really appreciate the content!!!
@jamesedwards3969 ай бұрын
I am not sure of your fabrication abilities but to be honest, I WOULD NOT recommend this set up for most people. It does ride a little higher up front than the rear. We have made some modifications already and gotten it to be a little bit better. Air ride can make up the extra height in the rear BUT, I am still getting used to the side rail/bed clearance. So far so good 😅! A completly flat bed would have been better. I may move this trailer to another truck later, time will tell. Great question though. This truck/hitch IS higher than a 35/45/5500 though. Hope this helps.

Alot of trailer movement with wheeled freight… definitely made me uncomfortable just watching 😮. And those ramps look like they will rip a new hole in anyone’s undercarriage… anyway, I trust yall already have a plan to fix that problem, i like the new money maker 👍🏾 keep up the good work

Mind sharing the cost? I got a diamomd C like this also, but why not just get a semi stepdeck/flatbed siince you can route air into it? Im in a 3500 so i can't use air but wouldn't that make.more sense financially, and load wise because then you've got air ride and can get one of those consistently much cheaper than a diamomd C
@adventuresintrucking19959 ай бұрын
Kind of do mind sharing the cost actually. But i will say we did not pay what you see these listed for not even close in the slightest . As for your other questions yes we could route air into the trailer. But this truck isnt an air brake truck. And while technically we could go back and just have the lines added to run air to trailer its another expense. As for more sense financially we didnt over pay for our trailer as most have done unfortunately so this actually made more sense financially for us. Everyone situation is different of course. Im sure the next man could benefit more from what you were saying but at the end of the day this trailer is actually matched to the truck perfectly in terms of weight the truck can scale legally since it’s essentially a single axle tractor we were never doing the full 48k with this truck anyway.

I owned a box truck when I worked for a moving company... It was a 08 freightliner with a Cummins...cleaned mine twice for $900 each time... I ended up buying a new one for $3,800... Sold the truck soon after.. Next time you have to clean it again ( within a year )I would replace it with a new one... Another thing that will destroy the filter is def fluid from the pump. In regards to ramps, I bought a new FMAX212 awhile back- awesome trailer. But those little latches that hold the ramps down are puny and break, I had one break first week of running this trailer, the weld broke, wind flipped ramp open and was dragging on interstate for 10 miles. Strapped the ramps down ever since.
@ridindirtyface4 ай бұрын
Also Diamond C really needs to remedy the issue with the Dove tails flipping up while loading equipment.
@adventuresintrucking19954 ай бұрын
Damn that sucks we havent run into that issue. Ours stay secured and we dont run a strap either… looks tacky imo… BUT I understand you gotta keep the ramp from coming undone too… i think ours is doing well because we have it secured in 2 different ways so even if one way broke theres a fail safe in place.. also it helps reduce stress by having two methods of securement
