How can playboy be viewed as empowering for women when it was men who controlled everything and these women had so many rules, got an allowance, and were not allowed to date anyone else even though Hef could date many? That's not empowering a woman

If Playboy Magazine had been about class and style there wouldn't have been 5 or 6 fake blondes with breast implants in a year, it was so obvious that the publishers picked all of these implant bimbos just because Hefner wanted to sleep with them. When I was a 13/14 year old in 2006/2007 this man was treated like a king in the media and even then I was disgusted. Not saying he’s evil but is he really the man to honor and treat like an “icon”. Pretty sure these women were being sold a false idea of what being at the mansion and being with Hefner was going to be like. Besides, abusers don’t immediately say to your face that they’re abusive and you shouldn’t be around them. Abuse happens usually over time. Do you really think they went there because they were in love?🤨🤣😂 Now they are going to play abuse victim's?!?!? Get real here, this was not "abuse", those are life decisions they now regret and because he is not alive, they have no opposition to contest their stories anymore. I would hope, you as a smart and just woman, would know the difference. On one way woman wants to be portrayed as strong and independent, but as soon some of them are making wrong decisions in life, it's not their fault anymore, it's the man's fault. It doesn't seem like he should have been able to hire so many LA cops for "security" at his mansion. He probably paid the cops a very high hourly rate to gain their loyalty. I question how multiple LA police chiefs didn't notice this arrangement and question it. Everything Hefner did seems like it was calculated to protect him from potential prosecution. He must have spent a lot of time thinking of ways to get over on women and an equal amount of time thinking of ways to cover his tracks. There is no other explanation for having cameras in every room to record the movements and conversations of everyone in the house. I kind of wish Hef had been alive when all this came out. Maybe he would see the harm he caused or maybe he would have simply sued everyone. I said NOTHING to or about my abuser until he was where he could never harm me or my family. As an adult when he would come to visit, in my head I was screaming at him to remember & let him know I did. Outside? I asked if he wanted more coffee. It's a mind fk that never goes away even when they are dead. I do think Hef did a lot of good in his life but you couldn't make me have to live with yet another abuser.

You guys are missing the importance of Hugh Hefner! Think of it this way. >Hugh invites over celeb/politician >Hugh offers them "something younger" >Hugh offers them a "safe space" to do it in >Hugh tapes encounter >Sends tape to CIA >CIA has person by the balls for LIFE. This is MAJORLY IMPORTANT to what has been keeping people in control for so long! Thankq very much

I'm not impressed by a hit job on a man who is too dead to respond. Funny how none of this came out when he was still alive.

It did. Holly Madison, and another girlfriend years before. Edit to add: Bill Cosby's crimes came out at a 2005 court case where he admitted what he did, but ignored (I don't recall if it was a single case he admitted to or more.) Also, OJ Simpson abusing Nicole years before her murder was public knowledge.

Modern day sex trafficking is a despicable practice. These women here who went out of their way to vie for Hefner’s attention are now suffering bad cases of buyers remorse.

Johnathan Baker is complicit in this, how dare he defend Hef, he wasn't a girlfriend. He doesn't know how the girls were treated away from others. Abusers wear very pretty, charismatic masks when they're around every1 except the abused, where they become the devil. (Glib, superficial charm.)

these women had every opportunity to leave. Women are no coming to realize that they were manipulated and used, just as men are when women lead them on. they had tons of opportunities to come out and accuse, and expose, but they didnt. People don't want to be accountable for their actions- you were used, it happens to most of us

I agree but I also want to add that the women that tried to come forward at the time were silenced by HH power and influence and blackmail with video and pics he had of certain people.

Huge Hefner’s Crypt Head has no lipstick kisses on it right now, unlike Marilyn Monroe’s who he is buried next to. I find this very interesting.
