Hi Ben, Team, Just few questions i had. 1. As per Prospec recommendation if we keep the 0 play in clutch that means we need to adapt to this style or over the period we can get back to our original (clutch settings with some play)? 2. How safe it is to have the bike running like this with wheel spinning when depressing the clutch ? The issues i had faced earlier are : 1. Either the clutch is perfect, easy but when standstill the gears dont work. Cant do the neutral from first, not can change from 2nd to first and all. 2. If the gears are fine, then as soon as we shift to first gear, bike starts crawling without releasing the clutch.

Agreed, Spinning wheel while lever is pressed is not for the clutch plate.

Will setting the clutch cable slack to zero put it in the risk of snapping? I've managed to find the perfect balance between clutch softness and smooth shifts. But I'm worried it will snap the cable.

2-3 mm at the clucth perch . That’s the best setting .

the housing you mentioned, is it made of plastic or aluminium? If it's made of plastic and some rock hits onto it then it's quite vulnerable.

It may burn the clutch plates, because the distance the cable required to pull the clutch is somewhat less than the distance you are pulling from the clutch lever. So the clutch plates are not fully pulled than earlier. In the stopped traffic, it is advisable to switch off the engine when clutch pulled in 1st gear.

@ontwowheelben pls ans this Im planning for my interceptor, but many says it burns the clutch plates
@AbhishekDaniel2 жыл бұрын
@@dheerajbshetty9129 please don’t buy this. I did this for my Himalayan and so did many people from deoffroaders group. All of them had issues with clutch and we had to switch back to the stock one. It will not fully engage the clutch and will cause decreased power, increased revving and hard gear shifts. I even contacted the owner of prospec regarding this and even with his advice I couldn’t get it working properly.

It is a compromise between clutch plate life and convenience. If you don't idle much with the clutch pulled (in gear) or are not in the habit of rolling with the clutch pulled, you can use this without worrying. Else, you are sacrificing the clutch plate life for comfort. These are beneficial for riding in mountains as you primarily use half-clutch or full-release.

These are just the cables . Balaji had already gotten the older version . We just swapped the cables . Kindly contact prospec team for more info

Tried the easy clutch earlier, the fulcrum effectively reduces the total travel of the cable. Implying for smooth gear shifts, on releasing the lever the clutch doesnt fully engage. gave a feedback to the pro spec guys, gone back to the original cable. Sorted in this new cable? I noticed you could hold the wheel with your hand (marginal power transfer) with the clutch disengaged (lever fully pulled back) but i cant get smooth gear shifts then.
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN2 жыл бұрын
GIVE IT ONE WEEK . and you will see that your plates will separate without any problem. Even sludge can cause the plates to stick . the travel is just enough and not more to separate the plates and so.

Hi Ben, I started to see your videos recently and I must say they are very informative. Keep up the great work, man. I plan to install prospec easy clutch on my BS3 Himalayan (Bagheera) and I use a handle bar riser with a slight slant. Would you suggest the long version or the short version? I see about 70 degree bend near the engine is some of the long version installation. Won't it cause more wear and tear?
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN2 жыл бұрын
no problems with the long version so far. the short version is purely aesthetics .

Only thing its doing is multiplying the torque put by rider at the expense of travel like short gear multiply the engine torque at expense of rpm. That's why wheel is still moving
@sasquatchhillbilly2 жыл бұрын
I'm not clear on the advantage of having such a Clutch Cable... If the rear wheel is engaging while the clutch is out (zero Freeplay), I would think this means there is constant friction on the Plates. I'm probably misunderstanding something, but it seems like this Cable type would do more harm than good for the Clutch system. Someone please correct me here, or help to understand what the advantage of this is, thanks ✌️

Actually, you are right it takes a toll on your clutch plates.
@HSsharma375 ай бұрын
The only advantage you get here is, feather light clutch. Clutch becomes very smooth and light unlike stock cable where it becomes painful in city traffic to use clutch frequently. NCR motorcycle's vdo was on point but TBH I've ridden around 35k KM's with this setup and clutch plates still going Butter.
