Of the two common sizes, a 3/8” pipe to a 1/2” head would require the smallest ID. To use that same ID fitting on a larger 1/2” pipe with a larger 3/4” head would be restrictive IMO. It’s a flow compromise for the convenience, I’m sure.

Great point. Flow could be, or is, restricted. my guess is that the restriction is marginal and is less than the nozzle size, making it inconsequential. Could be something EF might pursue in the testing lab. Thanks for sharing!

I have used these in the field. They are super easy to find in the sea of black and grey fittings and nozzles, these stand out! You can’t loose them 😂 The number 1 question I got was “Will it interfere with the check valve in the head?” As you showed in this video. The answer is a resounding NO! Add the cost of all four of those fittings at your cost (you the reader) and then go look at how much this fitting is. That alone should help you make the switch. The fact that you only need one fitting to do 4 different things is efficient in and of itself! #SprinklerDude

It’s pretty amazing the innovation that surrounds us every day that many do not see.
